On the eve of the 14th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, former President George W. Bush will headline a fundraising luncheon in New York City for his brother’s presidential campaign, according to a report from The Washington Post on Wednesday.
The former president, who has not yet campaigned publicly with Jeb Bush will also appear at a late October donor retreat in Houston where former President George H.W. Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush also will be present.
A lot of People remember his speech there with great tenderness, could possibly pull some voters for Jeb.
I don’t think too many people accuse the Bush family of being sound thinkers. It would seem to be a poor choice for the eve of the anniversary.
There are so many other times to do it. It just seems kind of thoughtless.
Maybe I’m being too thin skinned.

I don’t like the fundraiser part of this. It is like having a fundraising picnic at Arlington Cemetery. You don’t use the dead to raise funds for anything.

Go away, and paint your paintings. Those at least have a degree of charm and authenticity, neither of which your Baby Huey brother ever had or ever will.

And then George Jr will hear you.
And then his son will hear you.
And George begat George and Jeb.
And George begat daughters while Jeb begat suitable dynastic heirs.
And their sons and daughters begat chiefs, and kings, and queens.
He’s not holding the fundraiser at the World Trade Center.
