I am not arguing with you. My understanding is that immigrants do not need to take the entire oath. To me that negates the purpose of the oath. But then, I believe in things like pledges, oaths, vows and code.

Indeed, it makes the oath itself quite different.

The majority of nations allow dual citizenship (an unlimited number of citizenships, actually). I’m fine with that. Any citizen here though, must support the law of the USA. We should require language proficiency and require all official legal business and schooling to be in English.
