Once Trump agrees not to run third party the long knives will come out. They will all do everything they can to ruin him. As for me, there is nothing they can say about him or prove about him that would make me vote for anyone but him or Cruz.
What makes you think they weren’t going to cheat anyway?
Even light firsthand experience with the inner workings of party politics would have disabused you of that notion. You got no idea how ugly local politics can really be!
I think Trump is prepared for the ugliness. I just hope Americans have the stomach to see Trump dealing with it.
His timing on this is good.
There’s a solid 10% or so who would not consider him because he would not commit to supporting the party nominee. He’ll pick up some votes from that group.
Now that he made it clear that he expects to be treated fairly, and has agreed to play nice, he can fire back if there are any shenanigans.
His national numbers should go into the mid-40s for a little while, which is enough to demonstrate that he can make things hurt at will, at least for now.
Hey, people love the way Trump talks, but when it comes time to vote, they vote for the responsible adult. Our faith in the American electorate is renewed. Wait, let's quiet down. Jeb is about to speak.
And if Donald calls them on it, and goes 3rd party, they will just have his "unstable character" and "dishonorable conduct" as extra ammunition.
If so. But, why would a good business man shoot himself.
...Just in the nick of time....but don’t get carried away with it
But it comes with extreme risk. And both sides can play. You seem knowledgeable here. What is an example of "inner workings" of "ugly politics" which could be used in this election?
Printed Signature blocks for Reince Priebus, Chairman, RNC,
and each remaining eligible Republican Republican Candidate.
Which of them would sign?
Or no deal.
Not a damn one.
Trump can put this to death right now. When asked this stupid question all he has to say is, “The only oath I am going to take is pledging to represent the legal citizens of the United States of America and no political party!”
End of the GD story!
‘PING’
Looks as though Republican it might be
No third party ticket? Kill the beast
Great! Now can we get the GOPe to pledge not to run a 3rd party candidate when Trump (or Cruz) wins the nomination?
Keep in mind that the last time a non-approved candidate won the GOP nomination, they got John Anderson to run 3rd party. Fortunately, the non-approved candidate was of such high quality, and the rat was of such miserable quality, that the GOPe attempt to throw the election to the rats was futile.
But I have no reason to believe they will not do the same if a non-approved candidate once again prevails.
The party ruling class demand people sign a club oath?
Looking at the performance of these two party’s in just the past 20 years, do they know how bad this looks in 2015 America?
When he breaks his pledge after being screwed by the RNC, even more people will flock to his. FUGOPe.
I listened to the interview with Hewitt and he said he probably would agree in the future but he wasn’t ready to commit at this time.
Hewitt was encouraging him to do it and said he would go up in the polls.
