I’ll give you that Trump clearly has shaken things up, but what will he do in the end assuming that he is serious.
Will it be good stuff or bad stuff?
Will the budget be balanced with no more debt ceiling hikes to drive the debt payments up like the whole nation is beholden like a credit card company customer?
Will Obama policies be reversed meaningfully from Obamacare on down the line?
I accept the GOPe is knocked down and they can stay knocked down as far as I am concerned.
I don’t hate Trump but I am watching and listening and hoping for something better that specifically hits at the problems and the special interests driving those problems from the national debt to Obamacare to the crazy no win wars we have gotten into since Korea.
All those negatives you listed are going to continue to happen if a ‘rat or mainstream republican gets elected. Every single one. Our one party system has an agenda, and preservation of the middle class and the US itself are not on it. So, given that we’re deeply screwed, where is the downside risk to DT? If he is completely the opposite of everything he says, if he completely fails, what happens other than we’re pretty much where we’re heading anyway?
But if he turns out to be sincere, if he turns out to be competent, if he accomplishes even half of what he sets out to do....we’re in a heck of a lot better place than we are now.
It’s like the sage wisdom: if you find yourself lying face down in a gutter, you don’t have much place to go but up.
