UT Knoxville encourages students to use gender-neutral pronouns

The University of Tennessee is asking students to use “ze, hir, hirs, and xe, xem, xyr.”

No, those words are not another language. They’re actually the gender-neutral singular versions of pronouns.

The University of Tennessee Office for Diversity and Inclusion is asking students and faculty to use the pronouns in order to create a more inclusive campus. They say it alleviates a heavy burden for people expressing different genders or identities.

“We should not assume someone’s gender by their appearance, nor by what is listed on a roster or in student information systems,” Donna Braquet, the Director of the University of Tennessee’s Pride Center said. “Transgender people and people who do not identify within the gender binary may use a different name than their legal name and pronouns of their gender identity, rather than the pronouns of the sex they were assigned at birth.”

That’s an example of limited binary thinking. —

Let’s get Bill Gates right on this, NOW!

Computer code is 0s and 1s; that is limited binary.

How intolerant, non diverse, and uninclusive.

Boycott all binary computer programs.

Bill: devote a couple of $Billions to revising computer code to eliminate this hidden hatred.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!

And there are three genders used in the English language, they are, masculine, feminine, and neuter.

Just filled out a couple of forms at the Senior Center, and crossed out “Gender”, and inked in “sex”.

We need to stop calling it “PC” or “Political Correctness.” We need to start calling it what it is: “Leftwing Groupthink.”

The same UT-Knoxville that holds a yearly Sex Week where "all orientations thereof" are represented and had a Frat House that was doing alcohol enemas a few years back. This isn't the UT Andy Holt ran that's for certain. Holt's time there was likely the last time the place wasn't without scandal. Even Neyland is likely turning over in his grave. Knoxville is a one daily newspaper city now and the management of it generally pushes agendas of what UT does and says.

UT has gained so much clout they have also managed to have permanently closed one lane in each direction a federal highway {the Strip} for "GREEN" reasons. Never mind a hospital is two blocks away and that is one of the ways into it.

But the good news is East Tennessee is rich in smaller community colleges which offer a better education and have not been destroyed by PC. UT about had a calf when Lincoln Memorial University opened a Law School LOL.

I do not like to use the word "sex" to refer to a person's gender, because it is too suggestive of a physical act. I can't speak for others, but I wouldn't be surprised if many of those who use "gender" to refer to a person's physical male or femaleness avoids using the word "sex" in that context for the same reason.

I checked a couple of on-line dictionaries. The use of the word "gender" to refer to physical traits is correct.

gender (noun)

2. either the male or female division of a species, especially as differentiated by social and cultural roles and behavior:
the feminine gender.

Compare sex (def 1).

Full Definition of GENDER

2 a: sex < the feminine gender >
b: the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex

Whatchu Talkin about Willis? LOL We also have the Conservatives. Hey I'd take Jimmy Duncan as U.S. Senator over Alexander or Corker any day. I've read all about Alexander's very lucrative post governor - pre-senator investments. Then there was the Whittle Communications Alexander worked for & the campus taxpayers ended up with. Really Knox County and the second congressional district is fairly conservative. But UT and the Knoxville daily paper are as liberal as Obama. Knoxville has had a DEM Mayor for four years and the paper has yet to write so much as a negative paragraph about her administration.

As for Chattanooga? When the 1982 Worlds Fair went bust many who had vested interest in it ended up there. Unfortunately I'm in the third congressional district and stuck with a Chattanooga RINO for congress. Maybe I can do a land swap with my neighbor and be back in the second district LOL. Yeah I live right on the district line.
