Trump’s deportation idea similar to 1930s mass removals
The Washington Times ^ | 08/30/2015 | RUSSELL CONTRERAS

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s call for mass deportation of millions of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally, as well as their American-born children, bears similarities to a large-scale removal that many Mexican-American families faced 85 years ago.

During the Great Depression, counties and cities in the American Southwest and Midwest forced Mexican immigrants and their families to leave the U.S. over concerns they were taking jobs away from whites despite their legal right to stay.

The result: Around 500,000 to 1 million Mexican immigrants and Mexican Americans were pushed out of the country during the 1930s repatriation, as the removal is sometimes called.

I’m beginning to decide your way. I’m still giving Cruz time to catch on. Also still watching Carson.

The courts, both federal and state, will not allow that. The gov’t labor and teacher unions have so many more members now to take care of the mandated immigrant benefits they would fight tooth and nail. Do you think CA would comply?

I suspect that Trump knows what is involved with legal immigration. He has been through it with a couple foreign born wives. It is neither a fast or easy process. Unless the process is substantially changed, I don’t think most of the illegals that leave will ever be back legally.

He also rounded up the Japanese and Germans for security concerns. Can you see the Muslims being rounded up today?

In the 1930’s 500,000 to 1 million Mexicans were pushed out of our country under “repatriation”

Great. We did it before....so let’s do it again....

We know that. It’s the Establishment sellouts that don’t want to accept that reality that have been holding us back.

One is Alabama
Before you start arguing that many of the illegals hold important jobs that Americans won’t take, look at what happened in Alabama when they passed one of the toughest immigration laws of any state. One of their provisions levied hefty fines against employers hiring illegals, and that includes agriculture jobs.

Many of Alabama’s farmers said that without the illegals they would have no way to harvest their crops and it would financially ruin them. Yet, after the bill was passed, I never heard any news stories about acres of valuable crops left rotting in the fields because there was no one to harvest them. It seems that they fared okay after all.

After only two months of the enforcement of their tough immigration law, Alabama’s unemployment rate fell from 9.8% to 8.7%. That’s a huge drop in just two months and was directly attributed to the fact that hundreds of thousands of illegals left the state and employers were forced to hire American citizens.

I think the other one is Mississippi

"Illegal immigration has real consequences for Mississippi, as it puts additional burdens on our already stretched budget," Bryant said in a news release. "This executive order will help ensure that public benefits go to only those persons who are lawfully eligible."

He said the executive order "does not change or modify Mississippi law," which already bans state agencies from providing unemployment payments, food stamps or other benefits to people who are in the United States illegally.

The info about unemployment going down and the economy going up in two states because of their laws I read about here at FR some time ago.

Thanks. I know healthcare and education is federally mandated for illegals, are there any others?

I found this:

Why is it that Illegal Aliens Get Free Food Stamps, Health Insurance and Pay No Taxes?

Written by James Hirby | Fact checked by The Law Dictionary staff

Americans who are struggling to survive due to high unemployment and low wages may be asking why illegal aliens receive benefits from state and federal governments. Federal law does prevent illegal aliens from receiving benefits meant for American citizens. The only benefit that illegal aliens are allowed is emergency medical care.

Just because illegal aliens are not legally entitled to these benefits does not mean they do not apply for them. Yes. It is true that illegal aliens have received grants, professional accreditations, loans, WIC, disability, public housing, college educations, food stamps, unemployment benefits, and tax credits from state and federal agencies.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, at least one third of foreign born citizens in the United States are illegal aliens. Since children born in the United States are considered U.S. Citizens, it becomes complicated when illegal aliens then bear children who are U.S. Citizens.

If the U.S. government sent the parents of these children away, we would be separating families. Now that these families have given birth to U.S. citizens, the families are eligible for benefits such as WIC and food stamps. Benefits such as these are for low income families. Illegal aliens often work in low paying jobs so they now qualify for benefits.

Illegal immigrants enter the country by overstaying their visa. Officers of the law do not make it a habit to stop people and ask to see their papers. What this means is that if a person overstays their visa, they can find ways to work and receive benefits.

Another way illegal aliens enter the U.S. is by using forged documents. If people at port authorities, international airports, and border crossings are not catching forged documents, foreign citizens have just entered the U.S. without question.

Once illegal immigrants arrive, they buy forged documents saying they are U.S. citizens. The only way to stop this is to crack down on those who make and sell forged documents. If employers, state, and federal agencies cannot tell a forged document from a real document, then of course illegal aliens will receive benefits.

Our own failures to improve security, verify immigrant status, and recognize forged documents are what cause illegal aliens to receive benefits.

BTW, that claim about separating families is a bunch of hooey.

If the illegal invading criminals love family so much they WOULD TAKE THEIR CHILDREN WITH THEM!

PS notice the last paragraph, it's our fault! Which is true, it's our government's fault for not dealing with this mess by enforcing the laws concerning people committing the criminal act of entering out country without permission.

Instead we are welcoming them when they step across the border.

If we let that happen, what is the difference if they come into our houses and start living there??

Thanks. I know healthcare and education is federally mandated for illegals, are there any others?

Well it shouldn't be, only for emergency medical care.

Then the Mexican government should be billed and when able to travel the illegal criminals should be sent home to Mexico and continue their health care there.

"Any others" is interesting.

Illegal insurgent criminal invaders are treated better than citizens by the government.

Anchor babies and forged documents. CA is going to expand medical to illegals. I thought it was federally mandated that schools can’t refuse education to any child, illegal or not?

The influx of illegal workers lowers the wages of workers who are already here, and this includes most especially farm workers.

The best thing you can do for hispanic farm workers is control the border.

Well do some searches and find the info and post it here.

You can look up answers to your questions as well as I can.
