A Civil War monument in Petersburg was vandalized at some point early Saturday morning.
The Monument to Union Soldiers stands on Wakefield Street and is across from Walnut Hill Elementary School.
Petersburg police and the National Parks Service are working together to investigate the damage.

The south did NOT want a war. They wanted to leave the Union for legitimate reasons.

I saw something interesting today and don’t know where to post it so I will here.
I was watching TASK FORCE on TCM and after the Kamakazi hits the ship and she is on fire, the camera shows part of the ship in flames and I see what appears to be a CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG flying from the tower.

There is no excuse for desecrating the monuments to the soldiers who fought and died honorably on both sides, much less for desecrating their graves.
