Donald Trump 2016? It's up to the Conservative Movement Now
The Washington Times ^ | 08-31-2015 | Steve Deace

Posted on 08/31/2015 3:42:18 PM PDT by parksstp

He currently holds unprecedented leads in national polls, including across-the-board edges in all of the early primary/caucus states. His likability numbers with Republican primary voters are on the upswing. He’s a billionaire who can spare no expense in self-funding, which means he’s already amassed the largest war chest anyone will have in this campaign.

Nevertheless, most of the intelligentsia still doesn’t believe Donald Trump has much of chance to be the 2016 GOP nominee.

Please read the full article before commenting. The title is meant to say that it's up to Cruz or Carson to stop Trump, whom Deace believes is not a Conservative but simply a tool of the grassroots at this point to voice their anger over a failed party.

The polls are a basic indicator at best and utterly meaningless at worst. We won’t begin seeing anything concrete till February 1st.

IA Caucus Feb 1. Probably the polls after new years will be really worth watching.

That may be, but which other candidate has the GOPe and the Liberals so worked up that they are shooting themselves in their collective feet every day? I like Ted Cruz, but the GOPe has been able to shut him down ever time he has stuck his head up. Rand Paul has totally sold out to the Kentucky GOPe so that he could run for President and Senate at the same time. Ben Carson is as nice as they come, just like Herman Cain. The GOPe will make quick work of him after he has served his purpose. Only Donald Trump has the resources and temperament to beat the GOPe and then, with either Carson or Cruz as his VP, destroy the Democrats in November 2016.

Dr. Ben Carson has a good head on his shoulders. He espouses GREAT ideas, not just great one liners. I’m going for Ben Carson.

I like the guy a lot, but he isn’t ready yet. He would be a great guy to add to an administration though.

This cogent article is definitely worth taking the time to read, particularly for anyone still losing sleep over Trump leading the field.
They say that courtship shows you your potential mate in his or her best light, and s/he doesn’t get any better.
We KNOW he’s got a history. We’re not married to Trump, we’re not even engaged yet.
He’s just showing us a good time, finally, after years of being treated like a red-headed step kid by the GOP, and he reminds us that we call the shots, not Uniparty ... that is, unless they are able to legitimize a 30 million strong voter bloc.
Then we will be able to say, “Adios American”.
This is a fight for our way of life.
Any one tells you any different, tell them where to go.
Go Trump.

Trump has GREAT ideas on immigration. And he has talent and experience in getting things done with people in high places.

Did I miss something at work today? I just saw a poll that had Carson tied with Trump at 23% in IA. How did that happen overnight?

Carson is a very good guy and a really smart. There’s some issues (such as 2nd Amendment) that he waffled on early but looks like he may be coming around. But I don’t know how far he’ll go without the organization that a Cruz has. He just seems to be the obvious choice for Surgeon General, much like a lot of people one to peg Cruz for Attorney General or the SCOTUS.

Still, I could vote for Carson if it came to that so no problems there.

Cruz is my first choice, but I’ll have no problem pulling the lever for Trump if he gets the nomination.

[Trump is verifiably not a conservative.]

He is more of a conservative than the entire rino GOP Congress in DC who are democrats at best.

[I like the guy a lot, but he isn’t ready yet.]

He is ready to replace the current Rino Gop Congress and thier hand picked candidates, politicians can not be trusted in governmental positions of policy and laws. And Trump could really screw the dems and rinos of DC by appointing the losing conservatives to key positions in his administration and kick ass the worthless rino Congress.
