Email from Walker Campaign

I just got this email from the Walker campaign.
"My friend,
Our opponents have hit a new low. Now I cant even order a cheesesteak without being accosted by virulent protesters.
Yes, you heard that right -- protestors tried to interrupt a recent campaign stop in Philadelphia by shouting and holding up vulgar signs."
I'm sorry, but doesn't this sound weak and whiny??? If you want to be President shouldn't you be able to handle some punk protesters? How are you going to handle Putin? Mexico?, Pelosi?....your K street masters?

How does Walker handle his K Street Masters?
Should I go get a copy of the National Inquirer?

Part of handling them is pointing them out. He handled them in larger numbers than anyone else in the race in Wisconsin, by sticking to his knitting and getting the bills passed and through the court system.
Walker has not had a great campaign thus far. There is no need to level him. He is the odd duck that governs more conservatively than he campaigns, kinda what Romney was supposed to be according to his supporters.
Trump has wisely turned his fire to John Ellis Bush. He, not Walker, is enemy #1.

I like Walker for his experience and leadership in his state. Good VP material.

Walker used to be a force to be reckoned with. Anymore, not so much.

But only a sour puss would see this as weak. I am sure if your candidate did this, you would be praising them like some lapdog.

He has to be elected first. This may not be his cycle, but he is young. We have to stop eating our own, and encourage Walker to be less wobbly where he is wobbly.
If we steamroller everyone except our favorite, fewer good candidates will jump in, and the good ones who do may be ruined forever.
Walker could still be a force as a cabinet head, even one whose mission is to phase a department out altogether.

Walker’s not high enough for Trump to bother.

Success as a Governor during a period of time does not translate to success as a Presidential candidate at another point in time. So much is circumstantial. Bad time to be a “career” politician.

I give him credit for just walking around in South Philly.
I've spent time in south Philly. It can be a little unsettling for a proper stranger. Add the freakshows in the mix, and I too may forget to clean up the table in my hurry to GTFO.

Heck, Trump has no problem bothering with nothing-burgers like Graham, and 2%ers like Perry.
If Trump doesn't "bother" with Walker, neither should we.

Trump would have beat them with their sign. The news cycle would cover it for days. +10 points in the polls and free air time.

Success as a Governor during a period of time does not translate to success as a Presidential candidate at another point in time.
I would at least insert the word "necessarily". Reagan's success as governor of California translated nicely, including on foreign policy, where many thought he'd be out of his depth. Many successful Republican candidates had a loss or two under their belts, including Reagan, before making a successful run. You are right about circumstances changing, but when we don't know what the big issues will be in four years or eight years, I would not count a man like Walker out permanently. He's still better than a dozen in the present field.

As a 100% Cruz guy, I agree with you. Walker did fantastic things in Wisconsin and it is sad how quickly we forget them. Yes, he is running a poor campaign for the times we are in, but I think we are very fortunate to have him on our side. It’s too bad that so many people (both politicians and pundits) act as if 1600 Penn is the only place from which one can help the cause.
To: Dr. Sivana
Absolutely right. It just may not be Walker’s time this cycle. Clearly he has done a lot to advance conservative causes in the face of overwhelming opposition, but that was then and there. So much has changed so quickly, especially in the “summer of Trump”. Like him or not, Trump has totally changed the conversation and in most cases it’s about time to unabashedly put America first again and not be afraid (or PC) to say it.
