Will you get a gun, learn how to use it, and promise to use it - violently if necessary - to protect you and your family against the scum who murders innocent people?

Taking away other people’s rights won’t give him back his child.

His child was shot by a black racist who hated white people.

Parker could do more good by helping to put the Black Lives Matter movement out of business.

People who hate are a real threat, not people who defend themselves and who hunt for a living.

Its all about priorities.

Sorry, Mr. Parker, my condolences, but your daughter does not deserve as her legacy the further undermining of American's God given rights.
Sir, you really need to study this issue throughly and advocate with your brain instead of your heart.

Is this the one killed by an ex male prostitute? I’m having trouble keeping these black on white killings straight.

No, this is the one killed by gun violence. I don't think a criminal was involved.

“I plan to make my life’s work trying to implement effective and reasonable safeguards against this happening again.”..........

Before I make my statement, I send my deepest symphaty to Mr. Parker and his family for the loss of his daughter. May she rest in peace.

Mr. Parker, you are targeting the wrong issue, your daughters death is not about guns, guns are only “tools”. Your daughter’s death was about people, crazy people with severe mental issues. Set your goal to get these type people the help they need before they commit such acts.

Again, my sympathies to you and your family.

Those darn guns and their senseless shooting of people.

Cain didn’t have a gun but that didn’t stop him. Attacking the 2nd won’t solve the violence issue, in fact it will only make it easier for the deranged to prey on their victims.

He was gay, which by default means he is mentally ill.

If you aren’t sane enough to even figure out which sex you are suppose to be attracted to and that poop is nasty your as mentally ill as the guy who thinks he’s a cat.

Sorry for your loss. Gun violence was not the cause of your daughters death.
Will you do whatever it takes to end homosexuality? That was a major issue for the killer.
What about blacks? What to get rid of them? That was also a major issue for the killer of your daughter.
I am a veteran, a former Leo and Corrections Officer and have owned numerous pistols rifles and shotguns over my many years. I have used them for work, for recreation and for protection of my family and myself. Too bad I was not passing by your daughters location that morning to see what was unfolding Maybe your daughter would be here and the dirtbag would be gone. But in the world you want only the killer would have had a weapon and no good citizen would have the tools to stop him............

Putting every liberal in a cage would solve 99.9% of ‘gun violence’ since they are the ones doing the violence.

It is not the VRWC card carrier that shoots up live TV coverage. It’s the liberal.

It is not the bitter clinger that guns down movie theater audiences. It’s the liberal.

It is not the Sunday school teacher that is doing random drive bys in the Hood. It’s the liberal.

It is not the Rush Limbaugh listener that sells guns to ISIS and Mexican drug cartels. It is the liberal.

Solution? Outlaw and cage liberals.

I realize the magnitude of the force that opposes sensible and reasonable safeguards on the purchase of devices that have a single purpose: to kill.

The favorite line of the gun grabbers as they ignore the fact that over 95 percent of defensive gun uses do not involved firing the weapon (including the one time I used a gun in self-defense).

The perp in this case was clearly a loon but did not appear on the background check radar. All the gun laws in the world would not have stopped him.

And along with it, how about removing some of the restrictions that prevent employers from providing a “full disclosure” about workers who get the boot. It would be revealing to know what WDBJ was told about the shooter’s past and why he was terminated from every other TV job on his checkered resume. Likewise, what did the station tell the health insurance company who hired Flanagan after he was escorted out of Channel 7.

This is the kind of reform that might actually make a difference, as opposed to another attempted gun grab. If the grieving father follows the normal template, he’ll be running for office as a Democrat within a couple of years, but his gun control platform won’t work very well in southwestern Virginia.

I really really distrust the way he has decided to politicize his daughter’s death. Remember the Jersey Girls who did some kind of circuit after the deaths of their husbands in the twin towers?

“What do we have to do to end this insanity?”

The father seeks to make the voters of this country to be insane, when the insane person was the murderer. No matter that he is in grief, it is wrong for him to make blanket accusations of others.

I will speak to the real issue here: The mental health community insists that mental illness can be effectively treated. Hence: gay boy scout leaders and no early intervention with respect to gun sales.

Many forms of mental illness can be effectively treated. But not all. Depression, yes. Bipolar much more difficult. Schizophrenia is in the difficult to effectively treat category.

If you know a boy that tortures animals, you know somebody who will grow up to be a murderer.

The problem with schizophrenia is that it leads to harm to others. So, society is put at risk by allowing people identified with this mental illness that have progressed to violence. This is a justification for long prison sentences and even life without parole. The removal of people with schizophrenia from the general population by reason of long prison sentences, together with the aging of the population, is the reason crime rates are dramatically down in the country (notwithstanding the rise of murder rates in Democrat-controlled cities).

But what about people in the gray area? People who haven’t progressed to violence?

With mental illnesses that are progressive (meaning there is no prospect of recovery, only of stabilization), symptoms might not even be exhibited until later in life. Furthermore, there are degrees. People range from merely eccentric to criminally insane. It could be that it is impossible to predetermine who will put the rest of us at risk by reason of mental illness.

But, we can do a better job. In a number of the cases that have progressed to murder, there were early warning signs warranting intervention. Part of the intervention could be a restriction on gun rights. Due process should prevail. A diagnosis by one health professional leading to a magistrate removing this right from a person should be appealable. In that appeal, the person whose rights are being compromised should be able to confront the witness against him as well as present evidence.

In the present case, as in many others, we see that there were points of intervention. For example, police had to be called to escort him from the place he formerly worked. Protocols should be developed as to when these interventions warrant probation and the suspension of gun rights.

“Makes you wonder if the event was even real.”
I am sure these 3 people are dead but the ‘crash’ and suicide climax stinks of being something else..
This guy was identified by the police immediately, his cell pinging his location within 3 feet every 6 seconds, while the authorities watched him and did nothing, he drove to a shop and used the fax machine, drove for hours on 81. Then we hear about an officer’s plate scanner suddenly found him and the chase was on! In the meantime, all the exits had been long blocked off and traffic stopped. His car came to a stop on the remotest part of I 66. Hardly a crash. Very hard to find any photos of the crash site and NO photos of the perp in the car’s final resting place...

“He was gay, which by default means he is mentally ill.”

No, it means he is a sinner. Fornication and adultery are not indicators of mental illness. It’s an indicator of the fallen human condition.

Dear Andy:

The solution to your problem with guns are metal detectors located at the exits of every homeowners drive-way, apartment complexes & condominiums. We can truly live in a safe and “gun-free” world if we just convince enough people, including police, to abide by these new and secure measures. No gun will ever be on the streets again...ever!

As we begin to implement this process, we will also consider prohibiting people who are “suspect” from ever leaving their dwellings. That way, everybody who can make it past their drive-ways and exits will be “safe”.

Sincerely,
Your Local Lawless Enforcement Officer
