Ted Cruz may be off the GOPe reservation, or he might not be. His Corker and TPP votes, his sources of funding, and his working with McConnell until he denounced him are all troublesome.
Anyway, Ted Cruz is moot point until he moves up in the polls. The election is a long way off, and perhaps that will happen. Perhaps a Cruz/Trump alliance is in the making. We shall see.
Carson? Better than the rest, but like Trump, he fails the “True Conservative” test, and frankly I find the idea of him generating the necessary fire and enthusiasm needed for what amounts to a bloodless revolution unlikely, even more unlikely than Ted Cruz doing so.
If a conservative like Cruz or an outsider like Carson takes the White House, it’ll be because Trump has made it possible by outing the Republican Party as the frauds they are. The rest of the GOP field are merely tools at best, or more likely co-conspirators in the rigged game.

Well, it’s not, but that never stopped them before this.
To an extent we all see what we want to. He wants to see Trump the Leftist. We want to see Trump the Conservative.
We both have some things we can point to.
This year, right now, he is presenting Conservative ideals to the nation. He’s the first one since Reagan to do it.
This upsets some folks. They don’t know what to make of it.
We’re not going to win them over. If they get the mood sometime later on, they might slide on over on their own.
Until then, they’ll be very upset. That’s natural. It’s life.

It’s amazing to me, that when you lay out all of Trump’s proposals/positions, and you see things that conservatives have been clamoring for, for so long...yet, you have folks who refuse to see it, because of their disdain for the person.

That’s the way I feel too. I view Trump more as an event than a man and I am supporting the Trump event for now. Conservatism has become a walled up fortress run by a sort of a church. The maurading hordes are at the gate and we are very busy with defense ? ....no....we are busy with throwing people over the wall. Meanwhile, we are firing over the heads of the hordes to make sure the tea party is held at bay lest they come in and actually attack the hordes. Trump has come in with a golden sword (his $10B bank account) and says hey I can help out here, but we are like nooooo... You are not pure enough because we saw you talking to some of the hordes who we are not even opposing any more....throw him over the wall.
Trump’s mission is to destroy the Republican Party
What do you think that leaves.
