Yesterday’s show was one of Rush’s best in a long time. He was on a roll and pondering out loud lots of political circumstances, especially those that relate to Trump and the RNC.

I think this is really on point. I don’t think people are “fooled” that Trump is a conservative. I don’t think for most of his supporters it matters a single little bit if he is a conservative or not.

People support Trump because he is a do-er. He makes things happen.

People support Trump because he is a fighter. He doesn’t apologize for having opinions that others (particularly in the media) don’t agree with.

People support Trump because he wants America to be number one. He is a rejection of the Obama mentality that there is no, and should be no, American exceptionalism.

And conservatives have to face facts. We have backed conservative after conservative, often putting them through ridiculous levels of vetting in even the smallest utterance of speech going back decades, and it has led to liberals having more and more power.

Keep doing the same thing and expecting different results? Insanity.

I will be voting for Ted Cruz in my primary. I will work toward introducing other people to Cruz. But I will be cheering Trump in his destruction of the media and the GOP establishment.

The Trump Movement Isn't About Conservatism -- It's About Americanism

There is much division, consternation and dissension on FR over GOP POTUS candidate Donald Trump. There is an intellectual basis for this debate.

However, one thing that I think we can all agree on though, even at this early point of the primary process ... if Donald Trump wasn't in this race ... Jeb!Jeb? would be on the Dole/McQueeg/Romney gOpee path to the nomination with the lowest tepid minority percentage of the polls ever ...

Donald Trump is neither conservative nor liberal. He is, however, a fed up, successful, outspoken, thinking American.

Actually, he IS a third party - a We The People Party.

None of these guys will be able to defeat Trump in this primary. Trump’s stance on legal and illegal immigration is why he’s winning. There isn’t any other candidate with the right stance on that issue. It’s also the biggest issue facing our nation and has enraged Americans across the political spectrum because it’s almost never addressed in a serious manner by any politician. There is no other issue with such a disconnect between politicians and the vast majority of American citizens than immigration. There isn’t any alternative to Trump on this issue, and that’s why he can’t be beaten. This immigration issue alone will likely lead him to victory in both the primaries and general election. It’s not hard to understand his success, and it will be near impossible for a candidate to take him down on other issues when they are failures on an issue many see as being more important than other by far. It’s one issue that should break or make a candidate.

That’s how I see Trump. Having an ideal conservative as POTUS is nice and all, but right now, we just need somebody who will stand up for this country, period.

Exactamundo.

Trump doesn’t have the conservative philosophical underpinnings of a Ted Cruz, but he has instinctive traditional American values - hard work, personal responsibility, the rule of law, free markets... that strongly resonate with Americans.

Regardless of where Obama was born you never felt like he is an American because his VALUES are foreign.

Yes, I’ve tried to express this for a while.

The whole “liberal vs. conservative”, “red vs. blue”, “Rep vs. Dem” thing isn’t getting it done for America.

The globalists, who design our end, are not a majority. hey are, in fact, a small minority.

But they have prevailed by turning our elections into sporting events with two teams that have “fans”, not solemn civic rituals conducted by citizens.

The emergence of Trump and Sanders is a threat to the puppet masters, and their fear sweat is awesome to smell.

“The Trump Movement Isn’t About Conservatism — It’s About Americanism”

Gee, what could go wrong with a leader that is pushing strong Nationalism with a streak of Socialism.....

But hey, he will be ours, so that makes it OK.

But to me it's deeper than that, because many of the people that are complaining in their writing and in their columns and in their blog posts and so forth -- I'm not trying to offend anyone, but all they do is write. They comment, and that's it, as though that's an achievement in and of itself.

Rush gets it around the edges, but it's worse than he thinks. Conservative DC Elites want a President who will sit with them in DC drawing rooms and chat in the style of William F. Buckley, Jr... someone who will make THEM feel good about themselves.

Establishment Conservatives want connection, status, someone to prop up their 'airs'... someone to 'converse' with... not 'talk' with - 'converse' with...

They don't get Trump - they don't understand the county's turning into a hellhole... they don't care about the anguish in flyover, the jobs lost, the vets mistreated... because they're little part of the world - upscale DC - is just fine...
