Agreed- Kennedy said that marriage bestowed "dignity" on the spouses- Thus, granting a divorce, would place the spouses in a state of indignity. No sitting judge should order such a consequence. /s

TN Judge Refuses To Divorce Couple, Blaming SCOTUS Gay Marriage Ruling I hope this defiance spreads. We need to mock, ridicule, and throw up legal obstacles to their attempts to push this crap on us.

I do not get this, why would people who asked so hard to be married demand a divorce a few years or so later? I thought that was mostly for celebrities.

Wait till a judge denies a divorce to gays...course, this one TN case should do nicely.
All hell will break loose when some states decide NOT to allow gays to divorce.
Divorce laws are different in each state, ergo, SCOTUS shouldn't even think about touching divorces.

Exactly. Marriage has been federalized. The Congress should decide what marriage is and the ground rules. Marriage licenses should be issued by federal employees and divorces by federal judges. You broke it you bought it.
