Donald Trump: I Will Know The Difference Between Hamas And Hezbollah 'When It's Appropriate'

4 September Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump did not take kindly in a radio interview on Thursday to being asked to identify the affiliations of various militant leaders in the Middle East, saying the host was asking “a gotcha question”.

Discussing Islamist extremism, conservative talk-radio host Hugh Hewitt told Trump he was looking for the next president to identify the leaders of major militant groups, naming the heads of Islamic State, Hezbollah, al-Qaida and its Nusra Front wing in Syria.

“Do you know the players without a scorecard yet, Donald Trump?” asked Hewitt, who will co-moderate the next official Republican presidential debate on 16 September in California.

“No, you know, I’ll tell you honestly, I think by the time we get to office, they’ll all be changed. They’ll be all gone,” Trump replied.

“The names you just mentioned, they probably won’t even be there in six months or a year,” he added.

Hassan Nasrallah has headed Hezbollah since 1992.

Hewitt pushed Trump on the question, asking him: “So the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas does not matter to you yet, but it will?”

Trump replied: “It will when it’s appropriate. I will know more about it than you know, and believe me, it won’t take me long.”

The billionaire real estate mogul has risen to the top of the polls in a crowded Republican field more than a year before the November 2016 election.

When Hewitt said these were not meant as “gotcha” questions, Trump responded: “Well, it sounded like gotcha. You’re asking me names that, I think it’s somewhat ridiculous, but that’s OK. Go ahead, let’s go.”

Since none of them were on the scene yet in 1980

Hamas did not exist at that time, but Hezbollah did. Also the PLO was big in the 80's. And yes, Reagan knew who all of the major players were.

I disagree. You tell us what level you think Trump is but you do not tell us what the GOPe meat puppets have to offer. I will vote for a straight-up businessman over a career politician any day.

No, it was the musical Eagles. But it wasn't my personal opinion them - he posted a picture of that guy from The Big Lebowski, and if I recall correctly, he really hated the Eagles. So, I was just responding to his movie reference.

Albert Einstein did not drive and always took public transportation or cabs.

One day the secretary at the Physics Department Princeton received a call asking the address of Albert Einstein. She informed the caller that she could not give out that information. After a long pause the caller said, "I am Albert Einstein." The most brilliant mind perhaps in all time did not know where he lived to tell the taxi driver.

Well, if you look closely, you will see I often criticize them. I was bashing Bush before it was cool. But right now, Trump is the biggest threat. 17th out of 17.

I will vote for a straight-up businessman over a career politician any day.

Well, then you shouldn't vote for Trump, because he has never been a straight-up businessman. He's been a big government crony.

That was my point. Reagan knew who all the players were in 1980. He wasn’t a swami, so he would not know who the players were after he was dead. By the way, Hezbollah did not exist in 1980 either. It came into being after the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon.

Cruz is a 3.0 earthquake compared to an 8.0 Trumpquake on this issue. The Country is talking about immigration only because Trump was willing to take the heat.

He (Cruz) also stinks on H1-B visa’s.

But other than that he is a great man.

This worries about Trump. The only way I could continue to even consider him as a serious contender for the Nomination, and later the Presidency, is if Trump tells the public who his ideal group of experts would consist of. Obviously, he is not fluent in World Affairs to a great degree. This may be a dealbreaker, unless I see who his team might be.

We have dumbed down this role way too much.

Yes, it is depressing at times.

Perhaps the self-promoting blowhard has peaked. I do think that's happening now.

Does he have the power to inspire? I don’t know yet

Damned good question Aria... well see...
He(Cruz) seems too at his rallys.. but generally who knows..

His videos inspire.. in a real kind of way...
Meaning in a Constitutional way... him being a Constitutional Lawyer..

I don’t Cruz being BOMBASTIC... it’s not “him”..
He speaks about many things Trump speaks about and more of “those things”..
AND.. HOW... to change it in Washington D.C...

If AMerica is so dumbed down real Constitutional federal government is ABOVE THEIR HEADS..
Cruz might LOSE...

TRUMP is speaking to MORONS.. as if they were morons..
Extremely simple concepts presently simply with NO complex details..

Cruz does not do that.. although he does not get too complex.. he might bore the faux intelligent..

They don’t even know a TARIFF(trump) is a TAX.. and if you tax Mexico you surely must TAX China, India, Russia, and most of URP.. WHY STOP.. tax americans for new roads bridges and whatever too..

Morons are just TOO lazy to put this all together..
SOooooo they DON’T.. TRUMP then sounds LOGICAL to them..

TRUMP could easily win with the MORON Vote.. If America’s THAT dumb..

I’ve said this many times. I haven’t been won over by any candidate yet. I would consider, Cruz, Jindal, and Walker in my top tier, and now Carson, but honestly, I just have’t seen any of them lose the deal. Cruz looked pretty good, but the last few months, I’ve been having these RINOish feeling about him. Hey, the primaries haven’t even started yet. But Trump, he is 17th out of 17. He’s like Romney, but worse, much worse. He’s a liberal socialist. I have every right to tell the truth about him.
