Were the signs that were seized private property?
Did someone above Schiller issue a personal, private eminent domain on the signs to bring about their seizure?
These are the only real question to be asked although their are some secondary questions to be asked:
A chokehold? IF so, then just...heaven help us all.
What if this man who was hit had been a woman? Does any human being possess 360 degree viewing?

Were those signs private property?
Did anyone have a right to seize them?
Would any of this have happened if those signs had not been grabbed in the first place?

Well, in that case, I'm glad Dear Leader Trump pays his goons to steal people's private property and then hit them when they try to take it back.

So the protestor destroyed Trump’s property before being punched? In that case the sign was probably seized so it couldn’t be used as a weapon.

That raises the question: Were they pro-Trump or anti-Trump?

Says who? I think you are misunderstanding the post you're responding to. Trump's goon walked through the banner the other guy was holding, then stole the banner out of his hand.

Who gets to determine whether the sign could be used as a weapon? What right did Trump's good have to take the sign?
The sidewalk immediately adjacent to the street is almost certainly within a public right of way.
However, if someone posts a Deed showing differently then I will retract my comment.
