The role of American politics and politicians is to defend the Constitution. And the essence of that Constitution is to limit the powers of government while protecting the unalienable rights of the people as described in the Declaration of Independence.
But according to a prominent Catholic sister, Pope Francis has a very different view, one which she obviously shares. Appearing on MSNBC's Up With Steve Kornacki today, Sister Simone Campbell said that the Pope was "very clear" in his encyclical. Rather controlling government, he believes the "heart" of politics is "controlling the economy."

That needs a sarc tag!
The Pope and his spokeswoman blame the government for failing to achieve equality of result when it is government in Latin America that has delivered inequality with equal measures of corruption. The American system is not perfect, under Obama it is become much less perfect, under the present regime it resembles the Latin American dystopias more and more, but the remedy for any failings of the American system is not to ape the corruption of big governments in Latin America but to return to the original American model which has created so much wealth for so many.
Every time Marxist nostrums advanced by his Holiness are applied in Latin America, inequality waxes and opportunity shrinks. The more that occurs, the more Marxists call for more government.
You are correct about them.
This pope is undoing everything that John Paul II did.
John Paul II was not a Communist. Quite the opposite.
“Ask Soros. He would know”
I’ll ask him at lunch today.
Of course he believes the heart of politics is control of the economy. His brother in the struggle, Che Guevara felt the same way.
> Im surprised that they dont call em The Francis
I’ve probably pissed off a lot of Catholics on here talking aout Pope Francis but I’ve been studying and watching what he says and what he does ever since he started taking unbiblical stances on different subjects. It set my discenment meter off. He’s become wordly making many media appearances. Last night, Nightline had a segment on with children asking him questions. They seemed to act emotional and cry a lot on cue almost as if the were speaking to God Himself . I just back and watched the children that were “chosen” to ask the questions and all were sitting up front. And the questions they asked seemed to be pre-written for them. One child, a teenage female, even broke into song. It all seemed so contrived to me. It was like watching one of Obama’s press conferences. The pope was made to look like a god among men and it showed him smiling a lot but I could still sense the crocodile teeth behind the veneer. My belief is that everything was pre-planned and that at least one of the children were actors.
I think you are going to see a lot more pope worship before he appears at the UN headquarters later this month. Something bad is coming and he has something to do with it.
> Ask Soros. He would know
Ill ask him at lunch today.
If you could do me a favor and follow one line of the lyrics in Hotel California many people would be eternally grateful...; >)
Very possible! I am starting to wonder...
Good verse!
Are you sure that’s not Anthony Wiener’s logo?
“This pope is undoing everything that John Paul II did.”
So The Catholic Church now has it’s own Barak Obama. How Nice!
I think it’s a setup. Most children called to ask questions are illegal immigrants or had been homeless.
Francis had praise for the Cuban economic model. Of course so did Chevy Chase.
Has he heard the news?
Muslims are slaughtering Catholics and other Christians by the thousands while he lectures the world about global warming and the dangers of capitalism.
Who is he to judge?
