You believe you can be pre-forgiven for the sin of self-murder?

And the saddest thing is he probably didn’t even find what he was looking for - saw some reports that most “female” accounts were either fake, or belonged to prostitution services.

One site estimated there were only 12,000 real females for the 35 million registered users.

The action that takes place in believing covers all sins, or else it doesn’t. Can’t waffle around on that one.

The bible says all sins. It is men who put in the waffles.

Some people confuse this with the straw man notion of there being no accountability in eternity.

There are some people who want to dance around on graves because it temporarily gets them to forget that they, too, will be in a grave some day.

So sad; I guess he probably considered the notion of repentance and forgiveness, but saw how the liberal media was rejoicing in bringing down people they perceived as hypocrites, chief among them Josh Duggar. I’m sure he believed that even though his wife may have forgiven him, the people in his congregation may not, and the media certainly would not.

The label of “sinner” is lifted once the person believes. Not because the person won’t ever do anything evil again. But because the label has been transferred to Christ. The unsaved person bears that label himself.

The proud state of man is that he wants to take the personal moral burdens. It is of a piece with the Garden sin. You know good and evil, the onus goes on you. But those burdens will kill anybody.

“Suicide is the only unforgivable sin.”

That’s a roman catholic doctrine. Most Christians do not follow that belief and just see it as yet another sin that Jesus paid the debt for.

See, I believe differently.
I accepted Christ as my Savior years ago, but I have not been without sin since that time.
I feel that anytime I commit a sin I need to ask God to forgive me for not living up to His expectations.
That certainly includes the big one, murder. If I commit suicide, how can I ask God’s forgiveness before I have to face him?
If I can say I believe in Christ, and go right on committing sins until I die, and then ask for forgiveness, what was the point of the Commandments?

Sorry, not trying to be a butthead, but I don’t understand your premise.

It was a devil’s lie that such reconciliation had to be sought in the world, that it could not be had in Christ. This wouldn’t mean instant shangri-la on earth, but that is not what matters in the end. The bible says love covers a multitude of sins and here is where the world so often sadly fails. But when the world has failed, God will step up to a willing believer and comfort away a worldful of pain.

There is always the possibility he was putting people on and fundamentally refusing God all the while, of course. We cannot know. It hasn’t been given to us to say until God makes it apparent at the end.

Will we believe in the capacity of Christ or won’t we. That makes all the difference in the world to how much we see it here. Fail to believe, and we won’t see it. Be earnest to believe, and we will see it.

“I’m willing to bet more adulterous stuff happena on facebook than on ashley madison.”

Some years ago a friend of mine wanted me to have a Facebook page. I got one and never go there. I am on a trip right now and wanted to read a family member’s new posts on her Facebook page. Because I’m using a small travel type computer, Facebook wouldn’t let me on to see her page. Their method to identify me on there was to indentify pictures on MY Facebook page.

They showed various pictures of people and I didn’t know enough of them to get past their test, so they showed me more pictures and I couldn’t identify enough of them, so they should me MORE pictures and I couldn’t identify enough of them. WHO ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE “MY FRIENDS”. I tried for two days to get on there and finally they asked me regular questions instead of showing me pictures of people on my page.

Once I was on there, I still didn’t go to my page, I went to the family member’s page. If someone sucks the info. off my Facebook page, maybe they will know those peoples’ names. I have no personal info. on there.

I don’t even know how to get to twitter and I wouldn’t put any info. on there.

You are basically arguing that your salvation is based on works, rather than the grace of Jesus. There is not a Bible verse that condemns someone for suicide, or any other commandment.

Suicide is nothing more than yet more concrete proof that you were a sinner, and that you needed his salvation. There is no biblical proof that when Jesus cleaned your slate, that you now have to seek new unique forgiveness for every new sin afterwards. That is where purgatory, indulgences, etc, comes from.

Jesus said nothing of the sort, that’s a man made doctrine that arose when some early Christian cults began the suicide thinking as a way to quickly join God.

Amen brother. ALL sins. Past. Present. Future.

I think that's presumptive. Like one has God in a box in his pocket. God has to forgive him no matter what he does, thinks or believes, no matter if he repents for it or not.

If you have faith in Christ, you don’t choose to end the life He gave you.

Paul talks about running a race, to the end, about persevering... The error is think it is either faith or works, when they cannot be separated.

“Christians have often disputed as to whether what leads the Christian home is good actions, or faith in Christ … it does seem to me like asking which blade in a pair of scissors is most necessary.”

C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

“It did not need to end up in such tragedy. Should have hurt him, yes. Called for suicide a million times no. Sometimes I wonder if people have to check their hearts into a lock box before logging into FR.”

I so much agree with that statement. Do some people have like really really tiny sins in their past?

I’ve had no AM account, but man, I’m quite certain there would be a lot of celebrating of my desmise if mentioned along with some of the sins in my past.

I feel that anytime I commit a sin I need to ask God to forgive me for not living up to His expectations.

That is a "feeling" not found in Scripture. If we sin, we have an Advocate with the Father.... His name is Jesus. He promised us ETERNAL life, not CONDITIONAL life!

Paul tells it better in his letter to the Romans...

Romans 7: 14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
