And? Were we not told that such would happen by God in the Bible?

You believe in something or you don’t. If you do, you fight. If you don’t, you make excuses.

Bringing Trump in on this issue is disingenuous as he is not standing with her.

No one is suggesting that Trump is standing with her. What is being suggested is that she borrow a page from Trump's methodology. "You're Fired!" is how he handles things. It is not a statement that his position is in agreement with hers.

Yep... that’s what I think. Fire the deputy Friday morning. Then issue a new written policy that her office issues marriage licenses two days a year. June 1st and 2nd. Come back then if you want a marriage license. Have a good day.

What if he thinks the right thing to do is obey the judge and stay out of prison?

You are making it subjective instead of objective. One would think that someone sympathetic with Northern States deliberately disobeying the law regarding fugitive slaves would be more sympathetic to someone else disobeying immoral law.

I'm not sure he can be fired for that since he's obeying a court order, even if his boss disagrees with it. It would make for an interesting wrongful termination suit if she did.

I have said before, fire them all, and let them file suit. Turn this thing into a horrible legal mess. The Bigger the better. We should not go gently into that night.

Serve up legal headaches for all concerned. Make them wish they had never touched it.

The law states that the licenses “shall be uniform” across the state and must contain all required items, so changing the form violates that law, to my understanding.

You offered the “obvious” solution of ceasing issuing all marriage licenses. That didn’t solve the problem for Kim Davis. She did stop issuing all marriage licenses. That’s what she was arrested for.

And? Do we collectively think we get what we want without fighting and being jailed for it? We ARE in a communist run country afterall. It’s gonna take lots of arrested people before the tide turns.

History never lies.

County clerks in other counties also refused to issue licenses. Then Gov. Beshear order them to issue licenses and they did.

What authorizes the governor to amend state law or to repeal a Constitutional provision?

I just looked up the etymology of the word "Matrimony". The root word is "Mother."

'from matrem (nominative mater) "mother"'

Here's another bit on the topic.

The name matrimonium with its root mater (mother) shows the principle objective of the institution, the creation of children.

The word specifically conveys the purpose of creating children. By the very meaning of the word, especially MALE Homosexual "marriage" is a complete contradiction.

…Rowan County clerk Kim Davis, who was jailed for five days over her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples…

I read somewhere that she wasn’t issuing ANY marriage licenses. Does anyone know if that is true?

Stop issuing ALL licenses. Country-wide.

That is exactly what Davis did - she would not issue to hetero couples either. She was sued by 2 gay couples and 2 straight couples. Seeing how SCOTUS' ruling merely struck down Kentucky's marriage law, leaving a void, Davis was the ONLY ONE actually following the law.

No.....Law says County Clerk or a deputy....and there are no stipulations

We have yet to establish whether the Deputy clerks can handle official documents without the permission of the actual elected clerk. I'm thinking they cannot, and therefore cannot sign such a document without her permission.

The authority to sign rests in her, not them.

Which means you are for obeying the law, moral or not?

I was very clear in my previous statement, and many other previous statements.

DISOBEY IMMORAL LAWS. If the law is immoral, DO NOT OBEY IT.

Then how can you be critical of the Northern state's opposition to the fugitive slave laws?

I am not critical of it. I'm merely pointing out that "the Law" was not on their side. The "Law" was completely against them, much as it is now on this gay marriage bullsh*t.

I believe i've said over and over again that slavery was inherently contrary to natural law, but it's continuation was a consequence of the Northern States agreeing to it.
