This article’s writer has a very narrow application of the definition of an Evangelical Christian.
Such people insist on telling us what we believe.
Why not Trump? Especially if he is actually willing to do what he says?
I fall into this category. Trump is far from perfect. But then again, so am I. I pray for him and the other candidates daily, but specifically for him to be restored to God through Jesus Christ by being surrounded by true Christ-followers in his campaign.
The liberals HATED Nixon too. Not that Nixon was much of a conservative. He really wasn’t. The liberals hated Nixon so much because they could never forgive him four outing their golden boy, Alger Hiss, as a Communist.
By the same token, I don’t think DT is much of a conservative. I know he TALKS conservative now-—because he’s running in the GOP primaries. But his past record indicates many liberal positions as well as significant campaign contributions, including to the Clintons.
” often makes derisive remarks about women “
Where is the evidence of this? This reporter is very poorly informed? Bad article.
“They dont seem to be bothered by his multiple marriages and trophy wives. I guess hes held to different standards.”
I suspect they realize:
1. They are not electing a pastor. Reagan was in his second marriage.
2. They understand God has always used non-Christians to lead nations toward His purpose.
3. As a presbyterian, he does self-identify as a Christian.
4. They understand every single candidate is flawed.
5. They identify Trump as being able to win
6. They like what he is saying about their country.
OBAMA'S ABC BUTT BOY: Your Christian faith.
SEN. OBAMA: My Christian faith.
AFAIK, Trump hasn't made a big deal about either his Christian faith or his Muslim faith. I give him points for that.
Rosie O’Donnell...Megyn Kelly. How dare he. If these women can dish it out, they’d better be able to take it. To lay off them because they’re “girls” would seem a little misogynistic...
I remember back to the Clinton/Bush campaign of 1992 - something Clinton said is forever etched in the halls of politics - “It’s the economy - stupid!” That, in my opinion resonated with the electorate and helped win him the nomination and the presidency. Also, what GHW Bush said also resonated - “Read my lips - no new taxes.” Then he proceeded to give into the Democrats and raise taxes. Likewise - Trump’s slogan - “Make American Great Again,” is one of those slogans that resonates with all - and will be remembered.
RR’s first wife left him. Was involved with someone else.
Although RR was somewhat older (a little over ten years) than Nancy, I don’t think she would be considered a trophy wife.
If DT wants to impose new tariffs, he can start with bimbos imported from Eastern Europe.
I think the “expert” analysis on Trump misses the point.
Trump says a few things I like and a whole lot I don’t. I’ve gone on record more than once that there is a lot about him with which I have a problem.
But there is one overriding factor that gets him a whole lot of support and which, quite frankly, has me at least rooting for him a little bit ... As they used to say back in the day, he is sticking it to the Man.
Trump’s appeal is his Sherman’s March through the GOPe. He is NOT owned by the billionaire class lie, well, pretty much everyone else on either side. He is his own man and instead of being told what to do by the feckless GOPe, he is telling them what he is doing and they can follow or get out of the way.
The nattering class really misses the boat on just how appealing that is.
Plus, he is the only candidate to bring up the fact that Christians in the ME are being beheaded. He has referred to this many times. I’ll add one other thing = Trump was and is a huge supporter of Israel - and we should all know this is a big plus in God’s eyes. Bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. Yes, other candidates have shown their support for Israel, but, Trump made videos for Bibi’s reelection campaign. Those things don’t go unnoticed by God who says that Israel is the “apple of His eye.”
Part of it maybe that evangelicals don’t think Trump will ACTIVELY OPPOSE their faith. That alone would be a huge improvement.
Then you add in the fact that both Trump and Dr. Carson have actually worked to create something, solved problems and over came road blocks. Name something the other candidates have accomplished which was an improvement or solved a problem........ and don't get me started on all the lies the other candidates have told.
Why Is Donald Trump Receiving So Much Support From Evangelicals?
Uh, because they’re fed up with the lying, cringing, corrupt, self-serving, spineless, back-stabbing, PC, D.C. insider scum bought and paid for with campaign “contributions”?
I like him being non PC, but he is a liberal who has not given any clear points on many topics. Social issues he might as well be a liberaltarian or a liberal.
Ben Carson and Cruz are the only two I sort of trust for the future.
Any male who isn’t gelded is a “misogynist.”
Ugh. Terrible buggy site loaded with pop ups that get past my blocker.
