Forget what Trump says about Fiorina's face. Her HP record is the issue
CNN ^ | Paul R. La Monica

Posted on 09/10/2015 9:07:32 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Fiorina was the CEO of Hewlett-Packard (HPQ, Tech30) during a tumultuous time for the Silicon Valley legend.

She joined the company in July 1999 after a successful stint at AT&T (T, Tech30) and its networking equipment spinoff Lucent.

But the tech bubble burst only a few months after she took the HP job.

Fiorina tried to jump start the company's growth in the PC market by acquiring rival Compaq in 2002 for $19 billion.

That deal is now considered one of the worst in the history of the tech sector. And HP wound up laying off 30,000 workers during her nearly six-year tenure.

By the time of Fiorina's ouster in February 2005, HP's stock had lost nearly half its value. The Nasdaq index had fallen 27% during the same time frame.

Adding insult to injury, HP's stock rose 7% on the news that she was leaving HP.

I covered Fiorina's departure for CNNMoney. At the time, an analyst covering HP told me "nobody liked Carly's leadership all that much. The Street had lost all faith in her and the market's hope is that anyone will be better."

All this back and forth aside, as a viable nomination winner, SHE ISN’T. I’ll pull a Hillary here......AT THIS POINT, WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?

Yup. Everyone who was downsized, laid-off, replaced with an H1B or had their benefits cut will be lined up five deep to whine about it in Democrat TV ads.

She’s a nice lady, says a lot of nice things but yes, the controversy over her time at HP is a problem.

I heard someone explain it on the tube one night, the dot com bubble burst 6 months after she came in and then, 911 happened that was a major set back as well. I don’t think that’s enough though to convince people. Now, if some experts spoke up in her defense, that would help her. No one really has yet.

Bad remarks against her though. Really.

She was there when HP imploded. Part of it was her policies.

Sorry, I won’t vote for her in the primary or the general.

Her record is the issue...as is Donald’s infantile behavior.

Not mutually exclusive.

What a double standard on display.

Someone (ANYONE) makes a snark about Trump’s hair, the talking heads of the media unintelligentsia all smirk, snigger and more or less ‘dig the joke’, and nobody worries it, not even Trump.

Trump makes a comment about Carly Fiorina’s face and it’s all about the “war on women” again or some similar claptrap.

Now everyone, have you really LOOKED at her face? That face is the face of a woman with anger issues, probably due to her own self understanding of her incompetence as a manager at Lucent and HP, and she lost in a landslide to Barbara Boxer, a race that WAS winnable (with a different candidate).

I don’t want that face representing me OR America.

NEXT!!

I agree. Remarks about somebody's looks is not going to further any discussion. Calling people stupid and other names doesn't help either.

Trump needs to stay focused on the issues otherwise he will get clocked.

The media, Mexico, Mexican cartel kingpins the corrupt Bush's, Clinton's, D.C., MSM networks, Univision and La Raza have all maliciously slandered Trump, but Mr. C. Edmund Wright declares Trump is the one acting, "Infantile"?

Ya think anyone buys that bull s**t Edmund?

Her appearance is not a factor.

But she’s a RINO, just as sickening as Bush. She could be prettier than Palin, but the fact that she’s GOPe all the way makes her just as ugly as obama, Boner or McCommie.

Works all the time. The Democrats have been doing it for years.

Anyone who has worked in corporate America knows how precarious the CEO position is. Almost no one goes to the top of the corporate world and just stays there.

Criticizing someone for that is like calling Ronald Reagan a loser because he lost two Presidential elections.

I've loved some of the things Trump has spotlighted, but the man is a thin skinned jerk. He is his own worst enemy and I predict his approval ratings are primed for a free fall because of his big fat mouth and his upcoming performance at the next debate.

At the same time she was busy laying off those 30K American workers and replacing them with offshores, she was also busy buying her executive team a fleet of corporate jets. You know, real cost cutting stuff.

nice try Planet Moron. Last I heard, the MSM, Univision and La Raza were not running for President on the GOP side.....and no one around here has anything nice to say about Bush.

So get back to me when you’re smart enough to join the adult table in context.

Couldn’t defeat Boxer is not relevant. No Republican is going to win the California vote, so that’s just not an indictment. Boxer was also a powerful wealthy incumbent. There’s no incumbent running for President.

Now if she lost a Senate race in a red or purple state to a non incumbent...then it might mean something. W’s and L’s are important, but must be viewed in proper contest.

What matters to me is that she is on board The Cheap Labor Express.

We MUST have a President who WILL enforce the laws and secure the border if we are to survive as a nation.

No one buys your bull s**t Eddy.
