Germany’s Merkel says Facebook needs to do more against racist posts

“When people stir up sedition on social networks using their real name, it’s not only the state that has to act, but also Facebook as a company should do something against these paroles,” Merkel told regional newspaper Rheinische Post.

She said Facebook already had the necessary code of conduct, but there was a lack of control and enforcement. “The rules need to be implemented,” Merkel said.

Last month, Justice Minister Heiko Maas accused Facebook of doing too little to thwart racist and hate posts.

Maas sent a letter to Facebook public policy director Richard Allan in Dublin saying he received many complaints from users that their protests on racist posts have been ignored....

A spokeswoman for Facebook has said the company took Maas’s concerns seriously and the company was interested in meeting the justice minister

The Germans really want to kick them out.

Too bad about that whole WWII thing, otherwise I’m sure they would at the least not allow them asylum. Upwards of 100,000. If just one percent of them are terrorists that means 1,000. If just 1% don’t get caught and are able to follow through with whatever malevolent plan they have for German innocents that means 10 terrorist attacks at minimum.

Germany made itself so guilt-ridden by what it did in WWII that it can’t muster the common sense to defend itself against a threat to its own existence.

When people stir up sedition

So in Germany, when people complain about gov't policies they don't like, that's considered sedition.

Germany . . . same as it ever was.

I dare call her actions treasonous and aiding and abetting the Jihadist invasion.

Bingo. Why should the current generation of Germans feel guilty about things they didn’t do? They had better be concerned about what they can do *now* about the invasion that threatens to engulf them. The same goes for Americans. Stop falling for this idiotic “gringo guilt” nonsense and defend our borders.

Her Christian Democrats have been losing, 2-3 years ago in Schleswig-Holstein and Rhine-Westphalia to Social Democrats, and the Greens even got ten per cent, so she’s going left.
She’s prolly leaving before her term expires in 2017, maybe for the UN, and she’ll leave this mess for her successor.
IMHO she’s completely misread the politics here. Germans weren’t happy with the ROP immigrant problems they were dealing with before this debacle, and now they have to deal with more Muslims.

She was!!!!???

That’s huge. I didn’t know that.

But you’d think, unless you were indoctrinated from early on, that you would HATE islam, communism, socialism etc, like the Hungarians and I bet the Poles do.

She is an idiot.

“Germany made itself so guilt-ridden by what it did in WWII that it can’t muster the common sense to defend itself against a threat to its own existence.”
Don’t knock Germany, the United States, thanks to it’s progressives, has brought us to the point that we can no longer muster any common sense on how to defend ourselves against any threat.

Is anyone else wondering how many “refugee passports” will be issued to new Berliners so they can visit family in the US?

Germany is a federal republic composed of different states much like what we are. What we’re not hearing from is the reaction within those individual states.

Muslims are invading your country by the thousands and racist Facebook posts are your greatest concern? The West is toast.

Deutschland, Deutschland, über Alles, has a problem: a declining birth rate, which is now lower even than that of its erstwhile ally Japan.

Frau Merkel aims to solve the problem by importing warm bodies to the tune of 800,000 this year and 500,000 per year ongoing. The alternative is ostensibly declining economic growth and stagnation.

She has given inadequate consideration to the possible side effects of her indiscriminate ethnic injection.

Sooner or later, the Krauts and the rest of the Eurotwits will need to sit around a conference table somewhere in Northern Europe and work out a Final Answer to the Mooselimb Question!
