The GOP’s Donald Trump nightmare may soon get a whole lot worse (TPP)
Washington Post ^ | 9/11/15 | Greg Sargent

So you think Donald Trump’s demagoguery on immigration has created problems for the other GOP candidates? Well, another very ripe opportunity for Trump to make his GOP rivals even more miserable may be lurking right around the corner, and it could expose the same sort of schism between GOP elites and GOP voters that Trump’s forays into immigration policy have.

I’m talking about the massive global trade deal called the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Some time in the next six months — in late 2015 or in early 2016 — the participating nations may finally reach a deal on the TPP. That may well come just when the GOP primaries are heating up.

Virtually all of the major GOP presidential candidates, including Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, and Marco Rubio, all support the TPP, as do Republican Congressional leaders.

But, in a little noticed move a few days ago, Trump signaled that he might be headed in a very different direction on the TPP soon enough. After his terrific and wonderful rally outside the Capitol the other day, Trump met with Senator Jeff Sessions, and both men enthusiastically recounted that they had had a good conversation about immigration and …. trade. Said Trump: “The meeting was great!”

Yes, I’ve really been hoping for and looking forward to an intersection of the Republican presidential primary and Congress’ consideration of the details of the TPP. Might win Trump as much or more support than his stance on illegal immigration and government’s deliberate failure to enforce immigration law.

Obama calls the TPP deal "central" to his second-term legacy,
as well as to his "foreign policy" and "economic" agendas.

Trump asserts US trade deals are ruining our nation...
says its NOT stupidity....Trump says pols have been bribed.
Trump doesn't know how right he really is.

NOW ISN'T THIS INTERESTING? few, if any, of the RCEP and
TPP countries contributed to the buck-raking Clinton Foundation.

Looks like the Clintons and Obama divvied up the globe so that each have their own countries in order to collect big buck get-rich-quick foundation donations, honorarium, cosultancies, and int'l insider business deals.

======================================

THE FACTS ARE THESE Obama's trade deal giveaway is a huge scam...best examined against the backdrop of Obama's two tax- exempt foundations (two-that we know of).

Obama's priming the pump for donations to his two Foundations. All of it--- TPA and TPP--Obama's immigration suck-ups--- his non-action WRT ISIS, IRAN--- are best understood against the backdrop of Obama's future plans as an ex- president----more specifically, his two get-rich-quick Foundations (two foundations that we know of).

The aforementioned entities control billions of dollars---and Obama is lying- in-wait for his share.

===================================================

WIKI REFERENCE: Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is a proposed free trade agreement (FTA) between the ten member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) and the six states with which ASEAN has existing FTAs (Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand). RCEP negotiations were formally launched in November 2012 at the ASEAN Summit in Cambodia.

Global trade works idealistically, but the playing field has to be even for all partners. It is not even for us. The Republicans just can’t bring themselves to admit it. It’s true that lowering corporate taxes would help, but that won’t solve the problem.

So, some conservatives hate the Republican establishment so much that, they’re willing to side with the Democrats? Amazing.

Yes, but in truth most are reelected, and of those they were most likely thrust forward originally by local power brokers, including of course local Chambers of Commerce. A few years ago we had an interesting primary that included a handful of self-proclaimed Tea Party candidates and one establishment candidate. Needless to say he won because of the cancelling effect of the field and his enormous advantage in resources. After that no more challenges and yet another year after year incumbent winner was crowned. The major overarching point: This is not working.

Front-runner Donald Trump’s popularity WRT illegal immigration has created problems for his GOP running mates---sinking most of them into ignominious single-digit territory.

But the issue of trade is Trump's winning card. Trump has been consistent in saying US trade deals are ruining our nation.

FOR STARTERS PONDER THIS Obama calls the TPP deal "central" to his second-term legacy, as well as to his "foreign policy" and "economic" agendas.

That's why Trump's trade stance is a winning issue.

Trump can point out that virtually all his Republican opponents including Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, and Sen Marco Rubio, as well as Republican Congressional leaders, all support TPP.

Republican candidates support for TPP stinks to high heaven of the GOPe.

"PLAY THE TRUMP CARD DONALD:" These Republicans are all supporting Obama's "legacy".

[I sometimes wonder if the TPP and H1B issues are what’s keeping Cruz in single digits.]

People who aren’t Cruz supporters can see that he says one thing and does another, just like everyone else we’ve elected.

That's what makes me suspicious of him.

“Obama’s trade deal giveaway is a huge scam”

It may be part of his retirement planning but the real reason for his support of ludicrously lopsided trade agreements is his racism.

The money and power will go to non-whites. That’s more important then American jobs and wealth to him, in fact it’s his sole motivating factor.

This is the cause of the great Betrayal of the American working class by the Democrat party. Once they became the party of elite Liberals mostly employed by the government, they have seen their role as being the re-distributors of “ill gotten gains” of the colonialist Anglos back to the Sacred Peoples of the Earth....who of course aren’t Evil Whites.

Race is the only thing Hussein is about. When he sees whites in the South living in trailer parks, he wonders how they could be doing so well. His plan is to put them back in mud huts.

We bash Republicans on a regular basis around here (at least I do) but then when we stop and look around, we see that Republicans have taken over many state legislatures and Governorships since Obola took office.

At the local level, I would be willing to bet that even more Republicans are getting elected. I could be wrong about that. I didn't actually do any research.

The point is we need to get our local houses in order so those representatives can rise up through the ranks and get to The White House some day.

And we need to stop calling them "elected officials". They are elected representatives. I know that sounds like splitting hairs (hares?) but we need to take back the language.

Which also means we have to stop calling America a democracy. It's a Republic. Again, that might seem trivial but it's really not.

Cruz jumped the shark on TPA. He has other warts but TPA was a huge mistake from which he has not recovered.
Not near as huge as the corker bill.

Cruz, The fraud conservative could end up with Israeli or even American blood on his hand for that idiotic move.

Free trade to the founders did not mean low tariffs and quotas. Free trade meant a merchant could sell or buy wares in any country. Under the British Empire, the colonies were restricted in terms of where they could sell their tobacco, cotton, naval stores and other exports. Plus they were restricted as to where they could buy goods.

The founders used tariffs to build and industrial nation. in the 19th century, tariff on imported goods were high, protecting developing US industry from price competition and dumping by the more developed European nations. Had modern tariff policies (since 1990) been in effect in the 1800’s the US would not have developed the largest and strongest economy in the world.

The US is blessed to have the size, population, and resources to develop and sustain an independent economy. Few nations are so blessed. The founders and early policy makers grasped this fact and used tariffs, along with two large oceans, to keep the US independent as it was growing.

The current low tariff policies only serve to support the globalist socialist state agenda. Twenty-five years of modern free trade theories have resulted in the deindustrialization of the economy, declining standards of living for the American worker, the death of a large middle class, the decline of job creating small business, and rising income disparity. The only beneficiaries are foreign workers and companies, Wall Street bankers, and executives at multinational companies.

Trump knows that to make America great again we need to raise tariffs, rebuild our manufacturing base, and return to self sufficiency.

I don't wonder at all. Cruz would do well to spend a few years being mentored by Jeff Sessions.
Since you brought that up. I'm amazed that no one has mentioned Sessions as Trump running mate.

Haven't the Cruz supporters noticed who it is that Trump is getting advice from?

I think after a few Trump, Cruz meetings it didn't take long for Trump to realize what a dunce Cruz is.

We no longer have a representative government. Right now our Republic is a charade that even the media is having a hard time covering up.

Let the Revolution begin!

Side with which Democrats? The congressional Democrats who opposed TPP or our Democratic President who called the TPP "the most progressive trade agreement in history"?

The GOP’s Donald Trump nightmare may soon get a whole lot worse (TPP)

Trump has the potential to disappoint his supporters. I suppose all candidates do. I don't see how even the conservatives' most erudite pundits think Trump can be as bad as what we have had the last seven years.

I posed the question to a ‘Cruz is God’ freeper the other day if he could actually name a single conservative accomplishment that Cruz has achieved since being elected. Cruz does a bunch a squawking and screeching but he never accomplishes anything. All talk and no action.
