The planning commission of Sterling Heights, Michigan voted on Thursday to deny a building permit for the construction of a new mosque in the Detroit suburb. When the vote was announced, the reaction of the crowd was unmistakable.
As reported by WXYZ in Detroit, city hall was filled to capacity with 240 people anxiously awaiting the results. When the 9-0 vote was announced, the hall erupted in applause, with hundreds more outside chanting “No more mosques” and “God Bless America.”
While the fight centered around the size of the planned mosque – 20,500 square feet – and it’s location in a residential area, some residents feared it would potentially be linked to extremism. One resident said:
“This doesn’t seem like Sterling Heights. I feel like I’m in Baghdad.”
Mosque leaders said they offered to change the size and design of the project, to no avail.
Incidentally, nearby Dearborn, with a population of nearly 100,000, has the largest concentration of Muslims in the United States – nearly 30% of its residents.
Five will getcha ten that the city gets sued by either ACLU or SPLC, the feds step in, the land is seized, and the mosque gets built.
Wow! Is America waking up?!? Expect Obama to intervene and come down hard on this decision...

Makes absolutely no difference. A federal judge will tell them to build the mosque . . . probably at taxpayer expense . . . and that will be the end of it.
This is what it’s gonna take to get our country back.
The legal denial of the request was that the plot would have required re-zoning. The citizen outrage was made up of local Sterling Heights Chaldeans who came to the US to get away from muslims..............

Time for Obama to intervene and order the Navy to go pick up all the muslims trying to enter Europe and bring them straight here and drop them off right smack dab in the middle of our heart land.
Question is; Is it too late?

The middle eastern Christians were here first. Marronites, Copts, Assyrians, etc all have a long history in SE Michigan and Northern Ohio.
Guys like Danny Thomas, Jamie Farr, and Kasey Kasem are all from this area.
About 10 years ago the town of Folsom CA, where I lived at the time, voted to allow a mosque (there are thousands of Pakistanis working at the Intel plant there). They bought the land and walled it off, then nothing was ever built. I heard they never got the funding they were promised.
