I think that may be some of it but I think he’s a lot more than a simple protest vote. His message is solid. His qualifications are solid. His candidacy is solid. And as we start to look at his policy proposals, I think we’ll see that they’re a lot more solid than some people want to admit.

His message is solid, I agree. As far as marketing the product, he does GREAT.

I recognize that he is not a long term politician, so I'll put it in business terms that he would understand:

He is at Gate 1: marketing and market segmentation.

He has 25 - 30% of the people at Gate 2: pursuit. He has a lot of suspects (myself included), he has a bunch of prospects (30% of the population), but those prospects have to be qualified yet.

He has not developed a Capture Plan yet. Or, at least, he hasn't disclosed his Capture Plan. I'm seeing marketing-level ghosting of the competition, not actual differentiation.

I don't even know if he's gotten to building his Proposal yet. The RFP is out there and a proposal submission date has been set (Nov 2016), but I don't know if the technical solution has been developed, much less the technical, managerial, and pricing proposal. They will have to be particularly strong, as his past performance volume won't show relevant past performance in all areas of the RFP. Not a disqualifying factor by any means, but the proposal evaluators will have to be convinced.

Bottom line is that it's a long time before Gate 4 (proposal submission) much less Gate 5 (award). He has a lot of rocks and shoals to navigate around and his competition is gunning for him. He can do a lot with Gate 1 marketing, but there's a world of difference between Gate 1 efforts and Gate 4 proposal submission.

They are already longing for the day when they could accuse him of not being specific. If he stays with “send them all home” and this tax reform he is unbeatable!

Gotta wonder if picking the Iowa was a bit of subliminal influence...for later. :)

I agree with your sentiments.

Where are the other candidates’ statements of policy on immigration? I don’t hear Bush, Rubio, et al telling the public when their military and income tax policy statements will be made public.
