Anyone who claims that "America is great," today, is obviously trying to avoid looking at how far we have fallen in the past 22 plus years. The very slogan reeks of an acceptance of America's tragic decline over that period. It reeks of a call to do little or nothing towards any aspiration for regaining all we have lost.

It also reveals, one thinks, precisely the mental confusion of Jeb Bush.

He may be a nice man; he appears to be a decent family man. He is showing us absolutely no qualifications for the job that he seeks.

I go with the Douglas Adams’ theory of power positions.
