Jindal hints at leaving the GOP over Planned Parenthood
Washington Examiner ^ | 9/16/15 | Curt Mills

Posted on 09/16/2015 6:02:18 PM PDT by markomalley

Gov. Bobby Jindal, R-La., called on people to consider leaving the Republican Party if congressional Republicans fail to defund Planned Parenthood this fall.

"If we can't defund Planned Parenthood now, if we can't stand for innocent life after these barbaric videos, it is time to be done with the Republican Party," he said in reference to the controversial Planned Parenthood videos uncovered and released this summer.

"We defunded them in Louisiana, let's defund them in D.C.," said Jindal, who is number 11 in the Washington Examiner's presidential power rankings. "There's no point in being cheaper Democrats, no point for having a second liberal party. Start over with a new one that's at least conservative."

"Give Harry Reid and Pelosi credit, at least they fight for what they believe in," he added. "The president is a socialist but at least he says what he believes."

"If you want someone who will make incremental change, vote for someone else," he closed.

I have already phoned my GOP congressman and said the same thing today.

Jindal tore it up in the first debate.

“Third party equals Democrat victory. Bottom line.”

“It’ll never work..... We’re doomed”

Bet there were people saying the same thing as the (now useless) Republican Party was being formed.

Agree 100% with Jindal’s statement, however I decided to leave the GOP long before today!

Yeah, but what we have now guarantees the Democrats always get what they want.

Jindal is a cry baby, he's no better than Carly, Bush, Paul, Carson...

I think the best thing this country could do is elect a Trump/Cruz ticket...and I'm not saying this because Trump is my favorite, I'm saying this because of where this country is today after the muslim...

We need to get the debt gone, we need to get rid of all the government nests that have been built...

Cruz is good, he is against planned parenthood, he has stood on the Senate floor for hours defending things he believes in, and he fights for our Constitution and our Bill of Rights, he is against immigration and amnesty..but these are also things that Trump are for...

Way ahead of you Bobby, the republican party left me, years ago. I will however vote for the republican nominee if he is even 51% conservative, over any democrat nominee.

He right. Even here in Georgia, the “conservative” party is a joke. The GA house GOP leader is a big abortion fan.

And the Attorney General is STILL trying to sell us on Romney.

The Democrats get what they want because McConnell & Boehner give it to them.

A Republican majority in Congress headed by Cruz & Gohmert would tell Pelosi & Schumer to go pound sand.

Yeah, I can dream, can’t I?

Third party equals Democrat victory. Bottom line.

And voting Republican is just working out so wonderfully for conservatives.

I would crawl across glass to vote for that.

“If we can’t defund Planned Parenthood now, if we can’t stand for innocent life after these barbaric videos, it is time to be done with the Republican Party.”

Could not agree more.

And too many here will defend the GOP when the time comes.

Some food for thought:

In 1988 Michael Dukakis lost with 44% of the popular vote.

In 1992 Bill Clinton won with 43% of the vote.

Ross Perot siphoned enough votes away from GHW Bush to engineer his defeat (Perot’s real goal, IMO).

Do we conservatives have any choice other than to re-inject conservative principles into the Republican party?

I think not.
