First of all, kudos to CNN for sponsoring an informative debate.
What we learned is that ANY of these Republicans would be far better than ANY Democrat for out future.
And, we learned a couple of other things.
1. Trump doesn't do details. Nobody killed him so he probably won.
2. They all, truly, want to get along and are fed up with "x said you suck, what do you say in response?"
3. Only money will determine who's on the stage come March, 2016.
All in all, it's the best field the GOP has put up in decades. Too bad some of them still are paid to do things against what they said tonight.

i agree. left the candidates to duke it out which they should never do. they need to be smarter at these things. Trump was catty.
Elections are always about alternatives. Even if far from perfect, conservative politicians are always better than liberal ones. Just look at BHO. Like Romney or not, I’d rather have had him than BHO.

What makes you think Trump will be different? He has no clear values, and has taken liberal positions as often as conservative ones.
I think Cruz was outstanding. Trump did very well considering the hostility he was facing. Not many people could have weathered that kind of animosity as well as he did. Trump set the stage for Carly’s downfall when he opened up the book on her record at both HP and Lucent.

1. CNN learned from the Kelly/Wallace/Baier debacle.
2. The candidates made this a debate.
3. The audience was ready to turn it off if it got too partisan.
One of the best things that came out of it was the two doctors agreeing with Trump that spreading out vaccines is a good idea. I thought it showed that Trump actually is informed about the decisions he makes. It was subtle, but important. Besides that, it informed viewers about current thinking on the issue of vaccines.
Trump is the only one speaking out against China and mexico because all the others are owned by China and Mexico

I pretty much agree with you. I thought Carson was not as “on” as last debate but still good. Fiorina is incredibly articulate and she has a scary grasp of the facts and figures but sadly I just don’t agree with a lot of her positions. Trump was Trump and he did well enough to keep himself on top IMO. The rest are all savvy career politicians so they know how to talk the talk but I am trying keep in mind they are mostly all talk and no action and ruled by their donors. So I’m still voting for Trump.

Better than Fox, but still way too many candidates, and too little time for them to speak. I can’t stand these “he said, she said” questions. Give them 5 minutes to discuss the major issues - illegal immigration, terrorism, taxation etc. We learned very little from this format that we did not already know.
The fact that Rubio, Huck, Big Boy, and Bush are still at the adult table is hilarious. Carson’s meandering answer on the minimum wage should be another red flag to his supporters.
Trump could have done himself a lot of good if he had mentioned that Roberts helped Jebbie out down in Florida and it was actually Jeb who went to GW and campaigned to get him to nominate Roberts. Actually I was surprised Cruz didn’t bring it up. I would have nailed him with it.
