Trump is not the man to lead us
American Thinker ^ | Sept 17, 2015 | Patricia McCarthy

Anyone who watched the GOP debate tonight had to realize what a jerk Donald Trump truly is. While he may satisfy a certain lust in our hearts for someone who will poke the left and the GOP "leadership," he is a poster boy for self-love and bad manners. He may be brilliant at making money and deals, but tonight he did his usual bragging about his wealth and success, he insulted all of his fellow opponents on the stage, and he blew hard without much substance in his windy retorts.

He gets a few things right – the danger posed by North Korea, and the fact that criminal illegal aliens are a terrible threat to our safety and need to be deported. Beyond that, there was very little to remember about his performance. He mugged, smirked, and stuck his nose in the air. While many of us may have enjoyed his amusing entry into the fray, we should admit he is not presidential material. Not even close.

Those of us who are enraged at the lack of pushback by our elected GOP leadership should be forgiven for welcoming Trump's cocky, arrogant style; it was like getting to slap McConnell and Boehner across the face for their failure to live up to our expectations. But after a couple of months, the man's true nature is obnoxiously obvious: he is as big a narcissist as Obama. To elect him would be to trade one man afflicted with a personality disorder for another. Despite the differences in their professed ideologies, the results would likely be the same: national disaster. We cannot afford another national disaster as president. We are about to be overrun by the barbarians at the gates.

If the GOP really wanted to be rid of Trump all they would have to do is change their behavior. They have been bad, Trump is the stick we have to whip them with. If they had been good they would not be dealing with Trump. It is that simple.

I barely look at FR anymore exactly due to the shallow level of intellect showcased in many of the responses on this thread, but once in a while I check back in. I’m saddened but not surprised that the same cementheads that handed the 2012 election back to Obama rather than vote GOP are still here.

So this author doesn’t look like a Barbie Doll or one of Donald’s immigrant plastic wives—so what? Just let a woman talks sense about a clown in an empty, expensive suit, and all some men can do is mock her looks. Just like their loudmouthed buffoon of an idol mocked Fiorina. And of course, he ended up looking like a sheepish jerk on Wednesday to everyone but the morons who still think he’s the answer.

By the way, what do your mothers, wives, and daughters look like? If they don’t look like an airbrushed model, are they worthless as intellectual humans?

If Romney had been elected, he would have been better than Obama, period. Thanks for same sex marriage, by the way, cementheads.

The next POTUS will hold the security and fates of our children and grandchildren in his/her hands in so many situations, yet I suspect that millions of sore-headed pouting Trump supporters will sit out another election rather than vote for the better of two choices, thereby delivering Mrs. Bill Clinton to her life’s dream.

Did you actually read the Schumer-Rubio Gang of eight Bill?

Rubio is lying straight to our faces again about the bill as I heard it again on Hannity yesterday and about his intentions. He did it right to my face when I went to see and meet him in Lake City for the 2010 Florida District 4 Republican kickoff event.

HE LIED TO US ALL FROM HIS HEART! Not some prepared speech by a lacky.

Did you ever hear the saying,

Idiocy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

It doesn’t sound rational to me to keep giving my vote to neutered, bought and paid for GOPe picked republican candidates that lie to your face to get your vote and do absolutely NOTHING they promised AND can’t win an election against the socialist dimocrats.

Seems like "our side" is never satisfied that one of our hopefuls, that has a chance to prevail, is ever "the right man to lead us". Consequently, we end up being ruled by the Left instead of being led by someone with a shred of decency...

Per your request - aimed at article and not the messenger who posted....

Me too. Cruz is my first choice but the GOP would NEVER let him be the nominee and he doesn’t have the resources on his own to fight them. I’m hoping the reason he is not attacking Trump is because they might ticket together.

“...tonight he did his usual bragging about his wealth and success, he insulted all of his fellow opponents on the stage, and he blew hard without much substance in his windy retorts.”

I don’t remember him bragging about his wealth, mentioned his business success as a qualification for being president. The other candidates bragged on their purported records to the point of torment.

In other words, when Trump’s opponents (and CNN) smear Trump in precisely the fashion the writer accuses Trump of doing, it is only Trump who is a jerk because he did not roll over and just take it.

This writer is an idiot.

“My current favorites are Cruz and Rubio.”

Rubio was on Hannity’s radio show yesterday. He re-affirmed his support for amnesty for illegals.

I don’t want a president, I want a wrecking ball and I want it pointed at every hope and dream the left ever had in their tiny pea brains.

New Yorkers think a few steps ahead and they skip ahead.

I was once in a restaurant in Manhattan and asked that the music be turned down a little. The response was:

“Candles?”

Which was an answer ahead of my next question which was to turn down or off a glaring light. The music and light were turned down immediately.

I imagine Trump was thinking to the question you described “Hey! Not only is that a silly question but your selection of one of the participants here is inappropriate.”

So he skipped to his next thought showing at the same time that the moderator’s question was unimportant and also at the same time putting Rand Paul in his place who I know to be without doubt a corrupt little weasel.

You’re going to see a lot of these types of New Yorkerisms in the future so best to get used to it or you’re going to feel left behind and flummoxed.

“Trump’s response to the first question he got was the most bizarre, irrational thing I ever heard in a presidential debate. Moderator: “Should voters feel comfortable with Donald Trump’s finger on the nuclear button?” Trump: “First off, Rand Paul shouldn’t even be in this debate. He’s less than 1 percent in the polls.....” WHAT in holy hell was that?”

It was a giant red flag, one of many. Trump’s heart might be in the right place but he is mean, childish and narcissistic. At first it was understandable that he would counterattack his opponents and he would usually have a relevant basis for the attack. Now he needlessly attacks people using childish insults, is mean spirited and very IMMATURE. Its like he has no filter between his brain and his mouth. I find that very troubling.

What facts and reason has he been ‘attacked’ with? What support of his in not ‘rational’ thought?
