Jersey City's school board decided against adding an Islamic holiday to its official school closure list after backlash from the Jewish community, according to NBC New York. The board met on Thursday to discuss the vote on closing school on Sept. 24 for Eid al-Adha, an idea some school officials previously spoke of warmly, given the community's large Muslim population. The city has already established this holiday and Diwali as city holidays.
But NBC New York reported that Jewish members of the community claimed discrimination, since they do not have off for the Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

We have made an update — the superintendent said the vote was influenced by a concern about short notice for parents, not concern about other religious holidays.”
I think that schools should consider closing for Muslim holidays when madrassas in Mecca close for Good Friday and Yom Kippur.
Schools use any excuse to take time off. “It’s not for the children, it’s for the teachers!”
Hey...lay off the “educators”. After all they “work” about 8 months a year. “For the children” you know.
Jersey City Education Association building has “First in Quality Education” on the building.
Go ahead define “first”, define “quality”
LOL! You can’t pray or carry a Bible in school but they are willing to close for a religious holiday!
Truckling cowards.
So the jews are upset about Muslim holidays but continue to vote for the same a holes over and over who support such idiocy.
Reminds me of something I read in TWO YEARS BEFORE THE MAST by Richard Dana Jr. Always keep your knife in a scabbard made of untanned pig skin. that way the blade won’t rust.
(Added by me) And if you have to cut up a moslem he goes to hell unclean.
