From the story “Message From a Time Traveler”; it just fits the tone of this article perfectly.

“How, we wonder in my time,” he said softly, “can you ignore the better part of a billion people who say aloud that they are willing to kill your children . . . or condone and celebrate the killing of them? And ignore them as they act on what they say? We do not understand you.”

-

Difference:

The pop-tart kid was just an innocent kid eating a pop-tart.

The muzzlim kid, coached by his father, was trolling for a lawsuit with a make believe bomb.

Regardless of anyone’s race, kid with a pop tart gun gets boarded on any flight, no problem, whereas a kid carrying a case full with wires, circuit boards and a numeric digital display gets detained, and if authorities believe he was carrying the case with the intent to cause concern, he gets arrested.

If any lefty thinks this in unfair, then by all means, take up your clock, and try to board any flight. Good luck.

And the poptart kid was 7 the Muzzie kid is 14. At 14 if a kid doesn’t know how stupid this is then he shouldn’t be in school, he should be in an institution.

What was missing from pencil box clock.

Enough explosive to kill and injure the students in a classroom.

the_daug :" What was missing from pencil box clock.

The 7 year old pop-tart kid is below the age of reason, and the device was clearly a pop-tart.
He got suspended from school. he is innocent of any wrong doing.
The 14 year old kid knew what he was doing and is above the age of reason.
The device was clearly electronic with wires, attached to a pencil case, in a briefcase
with orange fabric covering up and obscureing what was behind it, thus leaving it to imagination.
The 14 year old showed the electronicc clock to a teacher , and when he didn't get the excited response he expected, he showed it to another teacher ,
despite having been instructed by the first teacher not to show it around, and to be discrete.
Considering this incidents proximity to 9/11, the 14 year old got the response he desired , resulting ultimately in his arrest.

The 7 year old did the pop-tart out of innocence.
The 14 year old did it out of premeditated malice, along with his father, evidenced by the 'victory signs'and smiles in the family photograph enroute to the lawyer's office.
The 7 year old got suspended and received media coverage.
The 14 year old got an offer to visit the White House to meet with Obama, and a job offer from Zuckerberg. Go figure .. !

How would you know there wasn’t a pound of plastic
explosives pressed flat into the side of the case?

The Pop Tart kid (from Maryland) chewed a cookie into the shape of Maryland. If the state of Maryland resembles a gun, maybe their presidential votes should be disallowed until the state redraws its borders.

Joe would have to go then.

Works for me :-)

I can tell you from experience as a teacher, that whenever we had a bomb thread drill, we were told as teachers to look for any suspicious objects in our room or hallway. More than once I have obligated to report book bags in the hallway.

Any teacher worth their salt, would have reported that briefcase. The fact they he refused to talk to the teachers or law enforcement but opened up once the media got involved.

But, Ahmed DID make, or possess a fully-functioning DETONATOR. The alarm triggered in his backpack. That point must also be emphasized.
