Trump falls, Fiorina jumps in GOP race: CNN/ORC poll

Carly Fiorina’s strong performance at last week’s primetime Republican debate has catapulted her into second place behind Donald Trump in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, a new CNN/ORC national poll shows.

According to the survey, conducted three days after the Sept. 14 debate, Fiorina has 15 percent support among Republican and Republican-leaning voters, up from just 3 percent in August. The former Hewlett-Packard chief executive is one point ahead of retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson (14 percent), down 5 points from the previous poll.

Meanwhile, support for Trump’s candidacy — which stood at 32 percent in August — has slipped to 24 percent, the new poll shows.

the bad news is they will push carly HARD.

which means if she gets the nod most of us will stay home and SHE will lose..I wont vote for her

sounds familiar anyone?

or third party ticket if need be.

not voting for carly.

Prediction...based on what we saw with Carson “rocketing” to being in a “virtual and statistical dead heat” with Trump (based on one poll the media went crazy) We will see this play out the rest of the fall.

Since Jeb is getting no traction, and Kasich didn’t come to their rescue like was thought, the media have to let that go, for now, so it was Carson who was rocketing. Since Carson was flat in the debate and followed with his comment on not having a muslim president, and Carly’s performance at the debate (mostly for hitting Trump), now Carly’s rocketing. Once her record is examined and it is found that she caused thousands to lose their jobs at HP, she will fall out of favor with the media. My prediction is Rubio will be the next to be “rocketing” in the media’s eyes. He is youthful, full of hope, immigrant background, hispanic, etc. However, he will then be faced with possibly having media supporting him over his earlier position on amnesty vs. his later mea culpa to conservatives...it will be interesting to see how he handles that. Oh, also, during all of this, Trump will continue to stay in the lead and quite possibly increase the lead, all while the media goes from artillery fire to outright blitzkrieg on his campaign, with the support of the GOPe.

Now Fiorina is “JUMPING”? In another CNN article, she is SKYROCKETING. With MSNBC she is SOARING.

NBC better haul out their Thesaurus.

Great analysis. I’m a born worrier but I think he can take it. Should put some time into preparing for debate though. I dont like the “winging it” thing so much.

NBC better haul out their Thesaurus.

I've also seen "SURGING", "RAPIDLY GAINING" (OR GAINING RAPIDLY), "CLOSING THE GAP"...

The anti-Trump people are pushing the CNN poll and ignoring the other polls. One needs to look at all the polls.

The NBC poll was an on-line survey. It was a non-probability poll. Thus it is not a true random sample poll. It is only a sample of the people who took the on-line survey.

It’s obvious to me that ALL the media (including Faux) are trying to play us like an Arkansas banjo. They had their establishment candidate ol’ Jeb who was being set up to lose to her thighness but he wasn’t making the cut. So they have replaced him with yet another loser Fiori_vagina.

There’s a number of other polls showing Trump gaining or staying the same. Why haven’t we seen one of those up?

So where did you see those polls? I saw them on FR. They were up. Oh by the way the internals of the NBC poll said people signed up to be a part of it and so they couldn't verify for the accuracy. But you can go ahead and cite it anyway. Yea! Trump is not losing ground!

This tells me two things:
1) America wants someone outside the establishment
2) America wants a fighter/someone strong - Fiorina came across that way on the debate although I thought she looked a little stern. Told my husband it would be okay if she would smile just once.

Any ticket that is a combo of Jeb/FioRino will fail and fail hard.

Is the GOPe really that stupid?

He is exactly what we need and exactly what Cruz, as VP, needs to be Prez in 2024. Too early for Cruz now.

The NBC poll taken after the Heritage Presidential Forum on the 18th (available on YouTube) is probably more accurate. The candidates got to address real issues with their solutions, if any. Trump was absent, so comparisons were against Obama, instead of Trump. Because of the glaring faults attributed to Obama, Google search seems to have buried the event.

I think he can take it, my only concern is health related issues. He is pushing real hard right now and is everywhere. That has to take it’s toll. I know I’m 20 years his junior and it would be tiring for me, though I think he gets a charge from it. He did look tired at the debate and as the evening wore on. As far as winging it, I think that is just the way he is. He’s used to being a CEO type, thinking in big picture terms and hiring good people to carry it out.

Not really. That poll made me happy. Not that I'm a Fiorina or Carson fan, but I'm happy the race is still fluid. We have a long way to go. Cruz can still pull this out.

Several polls have shown the same trend. Fiorina way up, Trump down some.
