If i had the voice i would suggest to President elect Donald Trump to come up with a nationwide dividend, payable ONLY to citizens and other key requirements.

I can obviously think of just what those requirements could be.

Too bad Texans didn’t have Gov. Palin to get us a deal like this. We let the oil barons rob our citizens of their share of the natural resources of Texas. (The OK Indian tribes were smarter than that.) Billions of dollars are locked up in state funds, such as the Permanent University Fund, while Texas parents can’t send their students to the University of Texas system or the Texas A & M system because they can’t afford the ever-rising costs. Yep, we Texans surely are gullible.

Have the Browns had their court appearance yet for allegedly filing fraudulent PFD applications?

A pittance, if that, to appease the welfare types...

Make no mistake, the bulk of PFD funding will go to feed the **welfare monster** created by the pols over the last 4 decades. And the all the new taxes will ensure fewer folks move up here...

Consider this - there is one NGO/non-profit for each 750 residents, and this number of NP (who all feed at the public money teat) has been growing at about 10% a year.

You got out while the getting was good. My son escaped to Texas last year. I’m looking at Boise right now, before the real estate market crashes.

To help things, the Army is pulling about 4K troops out of Ft Rich - hard times are coming locally, if nothing else, and a tiny PFD payout will make no difference....

Look up what Alaska became in 1995/96.

When I was last checked, ~80% of the PFD was from the earnings of the fund and ~20% was from the oil.

Good luck getting the government to give up their royalties on federal land and water.

But most US oil production happens on privately owned mineral rights. I will assume you do not mean confiscating that private property to distribute to others.

In Alaska, no individual owns the oil/gas rights. If it is on private property, the state claims it.

Palin didn't set this up. The permanent fund was an Alaskan Constitutional Amendment in 1976.

In Texas, the mineral rights are almost all privately owned.

On the PFD website you may elect to donate all or a portion of your PFD to charity. The program is called “Pick-click-give”. I don’t know how many Alaskans take advantage of this but we always support the local community radio station and the animal shelter.

I don’t know who the Browns are or anything about their fraudulent PFD application.

The Browns are the stars of the reality show Alaskan Bush People. They were charged with multiple counts of filing false PFD applications. I hadn't heard about any resolution.

The show is so bad that it is fun to watch. When you do a Google search on the Browns (which is how I first learned about the fraud charges) and hear the truth about them, it is clear how phony the show is.

Things are looking up militarily in the interior! More troops on Fort Wainwright. More fighter jets in Eielson AFB. Clear AFB is going to be adding radar capability. Not so bad up here!
