Strapped to wooden chairs and burnt alive: Two men are fatally punished by furious Mexican villagers after alleged car theft

Angry villagers beat and then burnt two men to death on the streets of Mexico after accusing them of trying to steal a car.

The men were grabbed by the 200-strong mob in the town of San Juan Chamula on Monday, according to a civil defense official, and strapped to wooden chairs before they were lynched.

The official, who was not authorized to be quoted by name, said the men had been turned over to police in the southern state of Chiapas after an alleged car theft.

Who do those killers think they are? The Mandalas? Tied to chairs? Next time just put a tire full of gasoline around their necks and light it.

Probably not, but maybe they should deal with the cartels the same way.

Now that is a plucky little village that could use some U.S. green cards.

I thought I was going to read on that they were child molesters or rapists.

A stolen car? really? hmm.

But they did burn two rapists a few years back.

Let’s watch this village to see if the number of car thefts drops.

Frontier justice to horse thieves wasn’t a pretty affair.

Good read...gives some of the reasons why this is happening:

I know our justice system is most often VERY slow in the case of the death penalty. I do very much support self-defence and the death penalty, but I don’t want to ever get to the point in this country where mob justice is the norm. With unchecked illegal immigration (and even legal immigration from 3rd world countries) we are allowing and inviting this kind of mentality into our country. How long before we start seeing this reality up here? I know we already see it with homegrown black mobs attacking people that have given the slightest perceived offence or no offence at all. I just don’t want to be importing more problems than we already have. Maybe these people wouldn’t act like that up here, but this is just once aspect of their backwards mentality.

I'm pretty jaded to a lot of stuff ... but THAT reality is getting too close to our homes

Like footage of 9/11, we SHOULD be reminded of evil in our midst

Maybe we should do this just once in Los Angeles with someone who steals the Bait Car.

Lynching was once a common practice in this country, and not just in the South or the frontier West. In many instances, it was racially motivated, as any white woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted by a black man was automatically believed. In other instances, it was not racial, but it was commonly accepted that someone “needed killing”. About 30 years ago, there was an instance in northern Missouri of a town bully whom local law enforcement could not restrain being killed, and the locals becoming silent.

Needs killing is still around in some parts of the US. Generally the law agrees. If people do get arrested the jury usually sets them free.

Yes. This is our hemisphere, and IMHO if we don't stand up and demand that Mexico do a better job in providing for its own citizens, including keeping order and protecting their own citizens, we are being irresponsible.

All of the debate about Mexico and the US centers on what we should do with illegal immigration. The fact is there would be no illegal immigration if Mexico was doing its job for its own citizens. We have strong natural ties with Mexico in terms of religion and family, and have many wonderful Hispanic American citizens who came here legally and worked their butts off. We should be strong allies, but the corrupt Mexican government has decided it is in their interest to ignore our laws, to vilify the US, and to use illegal immigration to the US as a safety valve to relieve their own internal pressures.
