Suggestions as to why Walker supporters should now pick up Rubio’s mantle. FWIW, I heard the Brett Bair interviw of Rubio last night, and Rubio was terrific. I still have questions about him, however, but what I saw last night was pretty good.

But, if Dick Morris thought that balding Scott Walker looked too young, what will he say about Marco Rubio? LOL.

FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.

God please help steer us away from this guy. Rubio is a George W Bush Clone - a “compassionate conservative” in TV interviews and a big spending NeoCon the rest of the time.

Walker’s capitulation and the reasons for it aside, I find nothing about Rubio for which to vote. The man is a walking, talking heartbeat away from Amnesty and full citizenship for illegals. Anything else beyond this he has to say I don’t want or need to hear.

“Suggestions as to why Walker supporters should now pick up Rubio’s mantle. “

But if you believe the latest polls, Walker doesn’t have any significant supporters for anyone to pick up. And that goes for about six of the remaining candidates. With them each polling from 0 to 2% they have nothing to contribute to the higher ups. If one of the 5%er’s drops out, you will have some movement somewhere else, but all these GOPe spoilers are not in because they have a chance in hell of winning, they’re only there so they can continue to shoot off their collective mouths about how bad the non-politicians are. Until a Carson, Fiorina, or Boosh drops out, any movement will be only by those candidate’s mistakes.

“I heard the Brett Bair interviw of Rubio last night, and Rubio was terrific. I still have questions about him, however, but what I saw last night was pretty good.”

I saw the interview too, and he speaks well, is polished and definitely knows what he’s talking about with foreign policy. But when Bair asked him about defunding P.P., he said we definitely should, but then said something to the effect that it was too late to do anything about because “our leadership did not lay the groundwork for this fight early on, so now we will be the ones blamed for a shutdown” — not an exact quote, but words to that effect. That tells you all you need to know about his willingness to stand up to the elites in both parties and fight for something he truly believes in. He had just got done saying how defunding P.P. was hugely important because it was a “human rights” issue, but then said it was too late to do anything about it this year (even though the shutdown fight hasn’t really even started yet) and we would have to wait until we have a new POTUS.

Heard the same interview...Rubio sounded very knowledgeable...BUT when pressed by Baer that the electorate is ticked off because the Repubs got the House, then the Senate, and still nothing happened, you know what Rubio’s answer was? THEY DON’T HAVE ENOUGH VOTES! AND THEY NEED THE PRESIDENCY (emphasis added). I am sick and tired of hearing how they don’t have enough to do anything. At this point, how about just put up a fight and FORCE a veto by the President. Take him and the Dems in Congress to task and MAKE them vote up or down. The Repubs, with a large majority in the House and a majority in the Senate, and a President who is fairly unpopular with a ticked off electorate, won’t even take a stand. It was more of the same from Rubio.

His answers were also well scripted an delivered in machine gun fashion as if it was off the stump...another politician. A smart one, but still a politician. Color me tainted, but I just don’t trust him or the others any longer. That answer about not having enough votes pretty much did it for me.

Rubio, a Republican presidential candidate, was the deciding vote necessary for the U.S. Senate to clear the final 60-vote threshold and eventually, later this week, send to President Barack Obama’s desk the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) bill that would fast-track at least three highly secretive trade deals that Obama has been negotiating for years.

“It is more important than ever that Congress give the president trade promotion authority so that he can finalize the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership,” Rubio said in a May 13 speech before the Council on Foreign Relations.

Rand Paul and Ted Cruz voted no yesterday. Jeb Bush also supports the deal.

Rubio gained $3.9 million for that vote.

Going to Rubio might not be a great idea as he has about the same chance of winning in Florida as Jeb has. Which is no chance at all!

Have you ever heard of anyone winning the White House without winning the Sunshine State? I have not! It was close during the “hanging chad” election, but even after two statewide ballot counts, the right guy won the WhiteHouse. I know all about that long drawn out ballot count as I was a volunteer here in Pinellas County and counting all the ballots twice was viewed by tons of old Algore’s watching eyes!!! What made my heart feel good was that old ALgore couldn't keep the Florida military ballots from being counted!!
