Carly Fiorina Says She Feels 'Empathy' for Hillary Clinton – and Vows She'll 'Never Make a Personal Comment' About Her.
Carly Fiorina has said that women "are not a special interest group," but that doesn't mean she doesn't feel a certain kinship with her fellow females – even her Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
"I feel empathy with every woman who is working really hard and giving it all they've got – and Hillary is," the GOP presidential hopeful tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "She's smart, she's hardworking, she's giving it all she's got."
Clinton, 67, and Fiorina, 61, first met when the former Hewlett-Packard CEO gave the commencement speech at Stanford University in 2001, the same year Clinton's daughter, Chelsea, graduated.
Fiorina said in a 2008 interview with MORE magazine that she'd been to Clinton's office "to talk about various issues," adding that the former secretary of state even asked Fiorina for her support early on in her first presidential campaign.
Though Fiorina declined for obvious reasons, she told MORE at the time, "I have enormous admiration for Hillary Clinton. And I felt empathy for her" after she had an "incredibly grueling several weeks" on the campaign trail.
Fiorina tells PEOPLE she stands by those comments and still feels that "enormous admiration."

I have my issues with Fiorina, but this is smart. Saying she feels “sorry” for Hillary casts Hillary as weak. Avoiding personal comments keeps Fiorina from looking catty.

Hillary is not a presidential candidate and her husband is not an ex-president. They are a criminal syndicate which has ripped off the American public in the past, abused higher office for personal gain and, had they been anyone else but the Clintons, would be in jail. Hillary personally is an enabler and accomplice after the fact for her serial sexual predator of a spouse.
These comments more than anything before demonstrate this woman is off the reservation. She does not deserve to be President.
Nothing could disqualify her more with conservatives than a statement like this. We are sick and tired of our side trying to play nice and be 'besties' with the criminal creeps on the left. So now just go away ASAP Carly you just destroyed any chance you had with the conservative base.

Hillary Clinton is evil to the core — just as Barack Obama is.
Anyone who does not recognize evil when they see it — and call it out for what it is — loses my support.
Aside from that, as a practical matter — how did it work out for John McCain to paint Obola as a “good guy” worthy of the presidency?

I agree with the above. However, she’s free to make comments about HRC’s record and dishonesty.
Hey...Carly....the blood of four Americans slaughtered in Benghazi drips, unending from the murderous hands of Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton!!! They are both agents of corruption and abuse of power, not to mention they are both traitors to the USA!!!
