I sort of doubt if he initiated the duscisson OF the sibject
my BET..... is that he was ..asked and thus gave a cogent...concise common sense answer
I’d Vote for Zhudi Jasser over Jeb Bush provided Zhudi was eligible. but then again Zhudi jasser would be considered an infidel apostate by CAIR, the shia, the shiite, the whabbists, the shmeagle, the spegheki, etc,.,,
Just Common Sense.
But Common Sense is non-existent with the “publik school” indoctrination systems (which are unconstitutional) where people don’t have a coherent thought in their heads anymore and no ability to “think” in abstract ways.
Faith can NEVER be separated from ideas. ALL PEOPLE HAVE FAITH——there is no such thing as a “person” who doesn’t have “faith”.
Separation of Church and State has MORPHED INTO Faith and State-—which is incoherent and impossible.
The Marxists twist Words and Language and destroy all Traditions and History by rewriting history—EVERYTHING-—is based on a Big Lie.
SO, Mr. Cruz....SOME FAITH is antithetical to the First Principles in the Constitution which INCLUDES Natural Laws and God’s Laws-——not the moon god’s laws and not satanic “laws” which make the Constitution and our Natural Rights ONLY from God, which are unalienable, MEANINGLESS.
Marxists, muslims, voodooism, satanism are all antithetical to Natural Law and God’s Laws and are incoherent-—and IRRATIONAL and should NEVER be allowed “faiths” in anyone who holds office and SWEARS an oath to uphold the Constitution which they HAVE to do.....but we see the sodomite Marxist who now has destroyed Rule of Law for his Rule of Man.
He should be impeached for Treason as 5 on the Supreme Court should be. Disgusting how people don’t understand Worldview as CRUCIAL to our type of Government. Just stupid to allow people who have NO concept of Individualism and true Freedom from majority tyranny (evil democracies).
[ Sharia Law is NOT compatible with oir Constitution!!!!! ]
Meaning if a Muslim President tried to implement it, we would be completely justified in impeaching him over it and trying him for treason. (well as long as congress actually had a freeking spine)
Exactly. Any faith or no faith can run. Its up to we the people to decide if we want them to actually sit in the white house.
The constitution is pretty unambiguous on that point and doesn’t say anything about divining true intents of an individual who may or may not believe the oath of office when they take it.
As I understand it there were people who wouldn’t vote for Richard Nixon due to the fact that he was a Quaker. Even today there are plenty of people who wouldn’t vote for a Catholic. (Personally I like the idea of a president Scalia)
There was discussion by the founders of the United States of ‘Mahometans’ (usually mentioned with Jews and Papists) in relation to politics and holding office. Generally, they conceded, in theory, that such could serve, either because the culture would have changed, or because the individual under consideration would have proved himself trustworthy to most.
Some today want to pretend that such views by the Founders indicate support for mass Mahometan immigration, which they most assuredly did not.
I like Zhudi Jasser personally but actually voting for him is probably a bridge too far for me.
As I understand it, he’s JD Hayworth’s personal physician.
Same here. Carson simply said he would not advocate having a Muslim in the office of President.
Cruz simply acknowledges that the Constitution does not prohibit a Muslim being eligible for the office. By the same token it does not prohibit Carson, Cruz, or any of us from choosing who we will or will not advocate, for whatever reasons we choose.
In my estimation the contract between the People and the government was broken at least 150 years ago.
Our elected officials and judges have been largely just been paying lip service to the constitution and ignoring it whenever it suits them.
Cruz would be correct if islam was a religion.
He’s correct, but he doesn’t like having a Muslim president any more than we do.
We have two Muslim members of the House. They must take an oath as well. The oath used today has not changed since 1966 and is prescribed in Title 5, Section 3331 of the United States Code.
It reads: I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
In contrast to the presidential oath, where its used only by tradition, the phrase so help me God has been part of the official oath of office for non-presidential offices since 1862.
Cruz simply acknowledges that the Constitution does not prohibit a Muslim being eligible for the office. By the same token it does not prohibit Carson, Cruz, or any of us from choosing who we will or will not advocate, for whatever reasons we choose.”
Posted your response in full because of your precise logic on this discussion!
Thank You! Sanity to all this talk prevails! FReegards! :)
Recall what Khrushchev said? Something like “you capitalists will sell us the rope to hang you”.
Allowing a Muslim to run for president is the same thing, senator Cruz. Stop being so theoretical, and consider the practical consequences.
Shut up, Ted.
Including Muslims to the office of Presidency would be suicidal.
No Muslim can take the oath of office honestly.
A perfectly rational viewpoint, if, and only if, one accepts the unspoken premise : That islam is a religion.
I seriously question the knowledge of history and the judgment of anyone who would offer such an absurd premise.
