Fiorina: 'We must be prepared’ to use force on Russia

Amid conflicting reports about Moscow targeting U.S.-alllied groups in Syria, GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said late Wednesday that she backs military readiness against Russian forces.

“I believe we must tell the Russians that we will conduct [and] we will secure a no-fly zone around anti-Assad rebel forces that we’re supporting,” she said on Fox News’s "Hannity."

“Does that mean we might use force against Russian jets?” host Sean Hannity then asked. “Well, hopefully not,” Fiorina responded. "Hopefully, if we are signaling clearly to the Russians are intention, it will not come to that.”

“But if it does come to that, I think we must be prepared,” the former Hewlett-Packard CEO added.

FioRINO doesn’t want to talk to Putin because he would remind her of all the bribes that were paid to Russia while she was running HP.

My God, the naiveté is staggering.

Really? So how would you characterize threats of nuclear war by Russia? Unappetizing?

WHAT “force”? Odungo has gutted the army, replaced soldiers with social experiments

You just don't understand his wonderful plan to defend the country. His plan involves making the country so broken down and revolting that no sane enemy will ever want to invade!

She will say whatever she is paid to say. Now who would want her to say what she did? Not hard to figure.

That face.

Every time I see that picture I think those words in my mind. The Trump has done very well at framing and labeling his opponents. Bush: The Low Energy Candidate. Carly: That Face. Lindsey: You liked me very well when you were begging me for money. Gotta hand it to him, he's slick.

Remember, Reagan was constantly berated as a “warmonger” and someone who was going to get us into World War III. Maybe I missed it, but I don’t recall that happening.

Good to see I am not the only one who noticed the echoes of leftist “anti-war” attitudes in this thread.

In other words, this clueless witch is advocating that we sacrifice American lives to defend Isis. Why do so many “republicans”, Freepers and otherwise waste time with this screwball, Rubio and other beltway no-hopers? Give me Trump!! Trump all the way!!!

It’s kind of interesting that both of you seem to be ok with US getting into another Korean or Vietnam war, in Syria.

Not at all. I’m just saying don’t have kittens whenever somebody pushes back at mass murdering one party state fascist Russia. Putin will keep escalating until he is stopped. We have nothing to fear from the tin pot Czar. He’s a typical neighborhood bully who likes kicking the skinny kids.

When and where did that happen? Were there dogfights? Shooting exchanges on the ground? Please provide evidence for this claim. Links, please.

The facts are sufficiently documented that I don't need to do anything. Go educate yourself and you'll find the information you seek in lots of places, like your public library.

We made a terrible mistake, nominating John McCain in 2008. You are correct in identifying her as another "nut."

I would suggest two steps for anyone drawn to this woman. First study a map. Our Monroe Doctrine reflected our geographic position. This is Russia's equivalent of a Monroe Doctrine.

Secondly, read Washington's Farewell Address. Or to better demonstrate both the absurdity of the folly that George W. Bush embraced, after we had already won the Gulf War, on the ground, and the actual relevance of Washington's sage admonitions, see Foreign Policy Debate.

The overlooked point about the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, is that their positions were always based upon a far more complete understanding of the psychological dynamics of human interaction, than is the folly of the poorer calibre leadership we have in these sad times--far more complete! They offered true pearls, wisdom for the ages. The virtual swine who have replaced them can offer nothing in comparison.

It’s kind of interesting that both of you seem to be ok with US getting into another Korean or Vietnam war, in Syria.

What's more interesting is your abject ignorance of the facts of the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Cold War.

Aircraft on both sides were shot down with frequency and no one was going to start a world war over these events. Even when the Soviets shot down a KAL 747 with a US Congressman aboard no one discussed war.

We are a conquered nation. We know that anything this regime does is going to be full of misinformation, outright lies, blunders, etc. It’s like Jimmy Carter and the rescue mission, Clinton and Blackhawk Down every day. Nobody wants to get our people in harms way under these conditions. We are undone.

"Good to see I am not the only one who noticed the echoes of leftist “anti-war” attitudes in this thread."

While we all should be "anti-war" in the sense that no one should want to go to war, the one sure way to bring war upon ourselves is to be unprepared and unwilling to fight one. I am afraid our side of the political divide is not immune to the complacency borne of comfort that now afflicts our society at large. No one today wants to get involved in anything, from foreign affairs right down to local politics, because to do so might disrupt their comfortable lifestyle and actually REQUIRE something of them. And it is because of that withdrawal from the duties of citizenship that our country is so rapidly going down the tubes.

The irony is that pretending that withdrawing from the world will keep us safe is in reality the surest path to our destruction. We may not be looking for war, but war is most assuredly looking for us if we don't prepare and confront evil.

Why are you so excited about having us and Russia shoot down each others jets over Syria?

I never said that I was. But what I was doing is responding to the person who thinks that WW3 will erupt over downed aircraft in Syria when the reality is that the US & Russia have been shooting at each other in the air for 70 years and I hate to say but it's always been received on both sides as everyday business.

Just to amplify my previous point: If you think of the modern world metaphorically as a nuclear reactor, then the U.S. is the equivalent of the control rods. Remove the rods from the reactor, and the reaction goes critical and the reactor melts down. We are currently witnessing this in spades.

Like it or not, there is no other force for good in the world with the ability (rapidly waning now) to keep the world from melting down. If the Paulians out there think the Russians or Chinese will play this moderating role if we continue to withdraw, then I simply don't know what to say other than please get counseling soon to address your delusion.

And when is the most recent incident where a Russian fighter shot down an American fighter or vice versa?
