I’m sure such a heavy preponderance (>99%) of two-parent families in our league was partly due to selection. Single-parent families couldn’t easily afford our single-family tract homes, and the presence of fathers in the homes enabled boys to develop a sports interest and then learn to play well enough to qualify. Still, it’s certainly indicative.
