A heroic student charged at the Oregon college shooter and was shot five times as he tried to save his classmates, his family said.
Army veteran Chris Mintz, 30, was taken to hospital following the massacre at Umpqua Community College on Thursday morning.
His cousin Derek Bourgeois told DailyMail.com that Mintz faced Chris Harper-Mercer, 26, who killed at least 10 people at the school in Roseburg.

In the Daily Mail’s headline last night, the shooter was identified as a ‘conservative republican’. I see this morning that that phrase has been removed.

I confess of being lazy, my day to day routine usually avoids people, i get up, drive to work, i work generally alone on heavy equipment, i might stop at the post office or buy fuel.
So i have two pistols, a compact .380 and a full sized Glock .45 that i keep in the truck, and now i must remind myself that this stuff is happening anywhere and anytime. That its very important to ALWAYS be armed, all the time. Save some lives.
I know last year when my wife was murdered by the EXACT same kind of person as this one and i was critically injured at the same time if i had a gun though i may not have saved her life i surely would have performed a different action.
So fair warning, any gun grabber or gun fearing liberal better stay out of my way cause i’m going frontier justice.

Conceal is best, too many gun fanatics around, they think a gun is animated, has magical anti grav properties, is sentient and can read their minds as they sleep. And leaves its owners holster at night to hunt them down.

Not sure if the campus was a gun free zone at the time or not. I saw on Fox earlier this morning that a couple of vets who who were CHL holders and acknowledged they were packing were studying in the student union heard shots and started towards the source but were stopped by an administrator. Big mistake by the administer for stopping these two guys. And, big mistake for allowing the administrater stopping them.

I’m sorry i was not instilled with life saving magic fingers, the foster son stabbed her in the neck with one of our kitchen steak knives, right out of the blue, right in front of me.
Then he turned on me, stabbed me in both lungs, the back, my neck, all over my hands and arms before i wrestled the knife away, both my lungs collapsed. As i was waiting for the EMT’s and SWAT and bleeding out i was holding her hand as she passed away, the doctor assured me that even if she was attended to within minutes they could not have saved her, he severed her neck artery. Happened last year, destroyed my life, cannot hardly work anymore.
He was just like this shooter, into Illuminati, marxism and thought highly of Obama. And btw, was also racially the same.
