Russia Claims ISIS Now On The Ropes As Fighters Desert After 60 Airstrikes In 72 Hours
Zero Hedge ^ | 3 Oct 2015

One question that’s been asked repeatedly over the past thirteen months is why Washington has been unable to achieve the Pentagon’s stated goal of “degrading and defeating” ISIS despite the fact that the “battle” pits the most advanced air force on the planet against what amounts to a ragtag band of militants running around the desert in basketball shoes.

Those of a skeptical persuasion have been inclined to suggest that perhaps the US isn’t fully committed to the fight. Explanations for that suggestion range from the mainstream (the White House is loathe to get the US into another Mid-East war) to the “conspiratorial” (the CIA created ISIS and thus doesn’t want to destroy the group due to its value as a strategic asset).

The implication in all of this is that a modern army that was truly determined to destroy the group could likely do so in a matter of months if not weeks and so once Russia began flying sorties from Latakia, the world was anxious to see just how long the various rebel groups operating in Syria could hold up under bombardment by the Russian air force.

The answer, apparently, is “less than a week.”

“Putin just wants to kill the Isis thugs and destroy their supplies, lodging and resources. So, he lets his military find the targets and destroy them.”

But their strong ally, Assad with 40 years of Soviet/Russian weaponry supplied including missiles, planes and tanks couldn’t find those targets, go figure.

Russia, just doing the job that Americans Traitorobama, his anti-American, proislamoterrorist, demonicrat supporters, and the gutless coward Congress don’t want to do.

There. Fixed it.

While Obama sends out a dozen “tweets” and manages to kill 9 doctors this week, Russia claims to have routed ISIS - something our military hasn’t been allowed to do for the last year.
So very true....we are not allowed to defeat any enemy as long as Obama is in the White House.

Putin has the advantage over the US because he’s coordinating strikes with Assad’s army as well as those in Iraq...who know far better the areas where the terrorist groups are and where their ammunition bunkers etc. are located as they have troops etc. on the ground.

“I thought ISIS was JV?”

They ARE JV to a leader with balls and a military force that hasn’t been pussified. (No offence to our individual service members)

If our guys were given the go ahead and support, we could eradicate the vermin. Too much PC national/world politics.

Why would Assad/Syria not want a natural gas pipeline through Syria?

Assad/Syria I sure want what ever Russia wants since Russia is the only thing standing between Assad/Syria and a fate maybe worse than death in the eyes of Assad/Christians/Jews/Seculars living in Syria - which btw seems to have been brought about by the west and Saudis, and others.

Others meaning those with an interest of using such a crisis to their advantage (i.e. Russia, China, ...).

How did we manage to hit a hospital?

Last night a FReeper asserted that the Russians spoofed (tricked) our smart weapons to inflict a PR blow to the US, who has been critiical of the Russians' use of dumb bombs.

Yea, I deny that. I would be more than willing to bet the “majority” of ISIS fighters from Europe are not from Russia. I bet there is ten times that number from Turkey alone, much less France.

The initial article is spin. No verification of the claim.

Plenty of sources say otherwise.

The Syrian air force is still dropping barrel bombs from helicopters which shows they are still plenty desperate

Bush bombed Iraqi rebels and the Taliban for years without achieving anything like a decisive victory. But Putin is going to beat ISIS in weeks? Tell me another one. Sounds like Putin's version of "Mission Accomplished". Except Putin doesn't have tens of thousands of ground troops at risk.

Remember this stupid editorial by Tyler Durden aka Dan Ivandjiiski at Zero Hedge aka Pravda Abroad in a few weeks when it turns out ISIS is alive and well. I wonder if his checks from the Kremlin are quite as fat as they once were, given the sharp fall in oil prices since their heyday.

“But their strong ally, Assad with 40 years of Soviet/Russian weaponry supplied including missiles, planes and tanks couldn’t find those targets, go figure.”

Assad is probably discussing this with his supposedly Intel guys. Expect a big Syria shake up in the top of Syrian military and their intel spooks.

True, but I mean when this was just getting ready to kick off.

Assad is in deep trouble these days and will go with whoever will help him.

But before this all heated up, why wouldn’t Assad want a pipeline through his country?

Russian Nationals, Russia’s own government says they have 2,000 Russian Nationals fighting in ISIS. They acknowledge the number might be higher. http://www.iraqinews.com/arab-world-news/2000-russian-fighting-isis-syria-iraq/

So, England and France and Turkey may but I have not seen confirmation.

One of ISIS’s top commanders is “Omar the Chechen”, he’s from Georgia but a lot of Russian speakers are in ISIS.

.....”we are not allowed to defeat any enemy as long as Obama is in the White House”....

Obamas reliance on Islamic terrorist groups to do his fighting will NEVER bring a victory...not ever. Proven time and time again this does not work and in fact only arms them and enables them to achieve just the opposite....guaranteed failure!

The coalitions, under Obama strong-arming them...to get rid of every so called “dictator” who wouldn’t agree to the NWO agenda by regime change... eg.Iraq-Libya-Egypt-Tunisia-Afganistan,etc,etc. failed to admit they are the only people to keep law and order, among these animals.

Gadaffi warned the west if they get rid of him it would be just a matter of time before there would a flood of millions of these scum-bags coming into Europe,....so did his son say as much. Assad said likewise from the beginning that terrorists had overtaken the Rebel Army early on......

I’m a so disgusted with our leaders for sticking our noses where it doesn’t belong.....and by doing so the costs of our soldiers and families for someone elses fight. This has got to stop!
