EXCLUSIVE: De Blasio administration joins fight against law that would exclude immigrants, felons from voting district count

The de Blasio administration has joined a Supreme Court fight that could change the way voting districts are carved up to exclude residents like immigrants and felons from the population count, the Daily News has learned.

If successful, Evenwel vs. Abbott would dramatically change the political landscape in immigrant-rich communities like New York, because it would draw districts to include only eligible voters.

Immigrants, felons who have lost the right to vote and children would be excluded.

In court papers filed last week, the city’s Law Department said rewriting the rules would punish New York City for its diverse population.

I don't understand these people ....

No .... really .... I don't.

Kind'a like .....

A bunch of black people have to look for and import a white person from another country to be their king/president ...

(or vice/versa)

Its a pretty piss poor day in America when politicians have to bus in illegals that don’t know them and their record to vote for them to keep them in power, especially when they are enticed with $100 bills paid for by you and I and promised welfare freebies to stick around and vote fr them in the next election. No wonder our country is beyond bankrupt and its working class people feel like slaves. Its because they are!

When I was a youngster, this town had a mayor who would stand in the doorways of the polls and give out $5 bills to the voters. At the time, $5 was a generous sum around here, so naturally, the voters elected and re-elected the mayor and anyone else on the Democrat ticket.

What's going on now is just about the same. Bribery.

I want the English language back, and I want it now!

Of course immigrants can vote, as long as they have become citizens. This story is not about immigrants, it is about illegal invaders who have deliberately been brought in to keep Progressives in power through election fraud.

Let's see. The people with the right to vote brought him to power. Now, the rules have to change, because he is insane with power. Institutionalize this scoundrel.

Read the caption under the picture: "Zachary Carter, head of the city Law Department, said that counting everyone in an electoral district is important because all residents use city services, not just those eligible to vote."

notice its not all residents pay for city service- nope- they all just use them while a few pay for them...

NYC gone nuts! They just awarded Ethel Rosenberg for her stand with a Union. What next? An award for Hitler for his art work? A De Blasio is what you get when you don’t leave home to vote.

The headline is misleading. Illegals can’t vote (legally, that is) unless the U.S. Constitution is changed.

The SCOTUS case hinges on whether or not non-voters (children, illegals, felons, etc.) should be counted toward the determination of the size of a voting district.

If not, some states with a high number of illegals are going to lose congressional districts (CA and TX for sure and a handful of others).

“Communities with noncitizen immigrants, children and disenfranchised prisoners and parolees are vital to our city, are rightful consumers of city services, and deserve a local government that is responsive to their needs,” Carter added.

Funny, I thought voting districts were based on voters, not city services...

Just think of all these cemeteries without representation...if this passes..

As a side note, I find it strange de Blasio would support this...

Libtards normally want every single legal, illegal and dead vote to count.

How about a compromise, count 3/5s of illegals just like democrats used to count 3/5s of slaves to unjustly boost their number of seats.

If democrats could vote the prisons and jails they would get even more votes... Violent criminals are democrats in the high 90 percent range.
