We know that the states with the most gun laws tend to have the fewest gun deaths.
This is a flat out lie. The average US murder rate per 100K population was 4.5 for 2014 per the FBI.
Here are the 2014 murder rates for the states with the most gun controls
California: 4.4 < equal to national average (effectively)
Connecticut: 2.4
Delaware: 5.8 < over national average
District of Columbia: 15.9 (highest in US, and yes, its not a state)
Hawaii: 1.8
Maryland: 6.1 < over national average
Massachusetts: 2.0
New Jersey: 3.9
New York: 3.1
Rhode Island
Here are the 2014 murder rates for the state with the fewest gun controls.
None of these states require a governmental permit for legal concealed carry by citizens.
Alaska: 5.7 < over national average
Arizona: 4.7 < equal to national average (effectively)
Arkansas: 5.6 < over national average
Kansas: 3.1
Maine: 1.6 < tied for lowest in the nation
Vermont: 1.6 < tied for lowest in the nation
Wyoming: 2.7
All data per the FBI UCR crime report for 2014.

“Something has to be done!!”
Uhmmmmm....Yeah?
So what ends this, in absolute terms?
Good luck playing Double Jeopardy...

“You can see the truth on the Brady Bunchs own website. States with the fewest laws = safest states. States with the most laws = most dangerous states.”
And you can also see that the “leaders” in those restrictive states counter with “their state is different!” Yeah, they’re different all right, they have more gun crime because of their idiotic laws. My guess is that as violence escalates, people will start ignoring their state’s “unlawful” gun restrictions, or maybe they’ve already started.
1. To feel alienated.
2. To hate those who have alienated you.
3. Retribution is valid.
My 2¢.
Indonesia and Kenya have gun laws, huh?
I guess we don’t have enough gun laws here already.
Well, it's a truism of sorts, but it's stupid. The gun grabbers need to conflate homicides with suicides to say this, that is -- they say "gun deaths" instead of "murders".
"Gun deaths" includes homicides, but also suicides and accidents.
I don't know about you, but I am more concerned about protecting someone who doesn't want to die than I am about someone who actually wants to die. Firearm suicides outnumber homicides by a ratio of about 2:1, so conflating the two completely obfuscates what is happening.
The states with the lowest homicide rates generally have high gun suicide rates, because there are many guns available. With fewer guns, cities like New York, Chicago and Washington DC have fewer gun suicides, but they have high murder rates and they have high rates of suicide from jumping in front of subway trains and jumping from bridges and high places.
Conversely, states like Alaska, Montana, and Wyoming have 0.0% suicide rates resulting from jumping in front of subway trains. (Therefore, they should outlaw subways in New York, Chicago and Washington DC. For the children!)
It's just a stupid comparison and a stupid argument.
It really bothers me how easily these young, “college educated” kids decide that suicide is always an answer. (Thank you Tom Lantos). The liberals have made life totally worthless in the eyes of the young. They use these “mass killings” as a way to trample our Constitutional rights but they could really shive a git about the victims. Victims to them are just more political props to help themselves get elected. SOBs.
Colorado? Well, there are those two stupid laws the democRats rammed through. Most sheriffs won't even try to enforce them and are in federal court to overturn them. I carry guns legally all the time with no CCW.
Those two silly assed laws were not in effect at the time the two shooting the author cites took place.
Japan has a higher suicide rate than the US does, and effectively no private firearms. Funny term I learned in economics - substitution. Including suicide by firearm is an error because of substitution.
Obama is a pusillanimous (for those of you who aren't familiar with that word, it means cowardly, timid, fearful, lily-livered, spineless, craven, chicken-shitted, gutless, wimpy, sissy, yellow-bellied) LIAR. He never tells the truth. It's not in his DNA to do so. Listening to him is a waste of my precious time on this earth.
Just for fun, notice how the states with highest abortion rates “tend to” have highest crime rates. No respect for unborn babies = no respect for ANY life.
Here is an article on the new argument from gun owners. http://journal.ijreview.com/2015/07/245635-gun-rights-advocates-have-a-devastating-new-argument-against-gun-control-here-it-is/
Logic, reason, and the truth are irrelevant at this point. It’s a matter of power. Once they have the power, they will do whatever they want and they will use their lies to justify it. and then it begins.
When is the last time this POS even saw his son? I’m guessing Chris was walking around with all kinds of daddy issues considering his white father left his black mother and him. I think Chris was probably lashing out at his father in fact.
Excellent answer. I always mute that arrogant lying pos
Possibly not....note they are focusing totally on "gun deaths" rather than "total deaths". What typically happens when guns are grabbed by the state is that "gun deaths" DO go down, but total criminal murders and overall violent crime go up.
The total focus on "gun deaths" and "gun crimes" is misdirecting to obfuscate the increase in total crime.
You're right, dems know they're lying about gun violence.
It's who they are...
Look at the polls on Hillary - they ask dems if she's trustworthy and the answer is 'NO'. Then pollsters ask if they'll vote for Hillary - and the same people who think she's an untrustworthy liar say, "YES, we'll vote for her". What does that tell you about democrats?
