Gresham Police say a driver suspected of smoking marijuana slammed his Toyota Prius into a 46-year-old Portland woman at a Gresham intersection Monday sending the woman flying 35 feet.

The collision took place at 8:09 a.m. at the intersection of East Burnside Street and Northeast 181st Avenue. The woman, who Gresham Police did not identify, was attempting to cross Burnside on a marked crosswalk. The accident comes just just five days after retail recreational marijuana sales became legal in Oregon.

Now now. You know the liberal/libertarian logic here.

Joints? Good. Guns? Bad.

Is it against the law to smoke pot and drive in that state?

Wow, bad luck. I'm guessing this guy and driving while high aren't strangers.

He was probably texting a picture of himself smoking a joint to his buddies at the smoke-n-toke shop at the time of the accident.

One business has left Colorado because employees were showing up under the influence. Such employee conduct destroyed productivity.

Idiocy. Does anyone really think that last week, when pot was illegal, nobody drove high?

I knew someone years ago that would roll out of bed and light one up before anything else. It was like coffee was to me.

We had a terrible incident here a couple of years ago. A woman was jogging pushing a tandem stroller holding her young twins. She was mowed down in a crosswalk. Miraculously the children were unhurt, but they lost their mother.

19 year old driver who admitted to smoking pot just before getting behind the wheel.

It will become so bad that some states will feel compelled to impose the death penalty for possession for sale and being under the influence causing death or injury.
