Trump is getting better at this. It’s interesting to see.

That was my thought too, but later he talked about practicing and repeating his lines and I wondered if he was explaining what had happened earlier.

What a strange start to the 2016 Presidential Election.

4 Months ago, looking at the candidates and remembering the last two failed GOP attempts. I looked the list and selected as my top pick Scott Walker of Wisconsin. I liked how he was able to stand up to the Unions. I liked Christie’s bombast and ability to think quick on his feet with a mic in his hand. I liked Jeb as Governor (I am a Floridian) but did not want him as a President. I like some of the Senators that are in the race, but wanted someone with Executive(I was thinking Governorship) experience.

Enter Donald Trump

Thanks to Trump immigration has become a hot topic, before him, nobody was saying anything.

He has turned this whole thing on its ear. I am also pissed at the GOPe for doing nothing after we gave them full control of Congress. I know many out there are in a rage, I feel it too.

But I look at Trump and then our national history. All but six Presidents were either a...
Former Vice President of the United States
Former Senator
Former Congressman

So they ran campaigns, they were politicians BEFORE becoming Presidents.

4 were Generals
Washington
Grant
Taylor
Ike

And two were former Cabinet Secretaries selected but not elected.

Hoover
Taft

None were Businessmen with no prior military, or elective service.

Part of me says this means something but if you look at the top three candidates for the Republican Party...

Trump - Entrepreneur
Carson - Surgeon
Carly - Entrepreneur

Not a politician among them. Now Carly is almost does not count, she did run for Senate and lost. So she has political experience. What ties these three together is the fact that they have not held office, but were successful in their private endeavors.

But can they win the GOP Primary and then the General Election?

I want to rally, my guy dropped out. Is Trump the guy? Can he go the distance?

FREEPERS! I could use some help here.

The reason that people are leaning toward individuals who have never been in politics is that the professional politicians have made an absolute mess. You don’t get out of a hole by digging deeper.

I’m with you. I would love an amendment forcing TERM LIMITS for all elected positions. Two terms. Period.

But can Trump win?

I know the media have been like.....

“Trump is falling in the polls.....”

The next week

“Trump is falling in the polls...really this time”

The following week

“Why wont Trump’s poll numbers fall? Because they should”

To understand Trump, study Andrew Jackson’s 1828 campaign. HIs slogan was so simple that even the goats could understand it: “Jackson and Reform.”

"I thought his Second Amendment stance was good also."

I also like this clip from another speech Trump made a few days ago about that same subject:

Trump: I Have License to Carry and If Someone Attacks Me… Franklin, Tennessee Speech 10/03/15

and I also like what this other guy said about Trump and the 2nd Amendment, and about other subjects as well:

Donald Trump On Guns And 2nd Amendment But Media Ignores It

He’s evolving into a great campaigner. In this speech he off the cuff talks about Dan Gable...then Charles O Finley... then Churchill. No other politician knows our country and its heritage like Trump.

He’s toned down. He’s relaxed. He’s cool. He’s the guy right now.

Look at my last post here. I think you reflect what many of us feel.

No one knows our country and it’s heritage more than Trump.

I pray he is protected from harm.

He’s the right guy for our times. Sorry, the others are not ready or worthy of the office yet. They can apprentice with Trump.

I see Bush dropping out and joining the campaign.

Trump scares the pants off a awful lot of people.

I particularly enjoy seeing a Black man that gets it.

Good for the soul.
