U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday apologized to Medecins Sans Frontieres for the deadly bombing of its hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan, while the medical charity pressed its demand for an international commission to investigate what it calls a war crime.

There are basically 4 ways this plays out, 1 bad, 2 s$&t happens, and 1 serves them right.
The one bad option is that the Afghanis weren't receiving fire from the hospital, but targeted it because MSF was treating Taliban. I can understand the frustration of the Afghani Army, but that's not cricket.
The two bad luck options are either weapon failure or wrong coordinates supplied by either the ANA or US. That does suck, but maybe MSF should try moving their hospital to a grid square without Taliban.
If the MSF let the Taliban drop anchor in their hospital and those guys started firing at the ANA, even in defense, then MSF is putting themselves at extreme risk and this will happen again. So what.
Regardless, unless the President has already gotten the dump from the military, he shouldn't be apologizing.

Word is that the “hospital” was a Taliban stronghold..which makes this apologetic routine even more ludicrous if the rumors are facts.
