Ted Cruz's Republican presidential campaign raises $12 million over past 3 months

Ted Cruz's presidential campaign is reporting a $12.2 million fundraising boost over the past three months.

The Republican Texas senator's new fundraising, added to what he raised through the end of June, gives him a total of $26.5 million since he entered the race in late March.

Cruz's fundraising compares favorably with two other Republican candidates who have made their totals public. It's double what Florida Sen. Marco Rubio raised during the same period. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul brought in $2.5 million between July and the end of last month.

However, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson's campaign amassed $20 million in that time.

The Associated Press learned of Cruz's figures from a campaign aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity to share fundraising numbers before they're officially released.

Lower than Carson (20M) but double Rubio. And I think that places him 1st in hard money over the first 2 quarters. 26 million total.

Donald Trump has spent $2M.

Getting a lot of bang for his buck.

I’m not too concerned about Carson. He doesn’t have the fire in his belly. His voters go to Cruz when he drops out, IMO.

Pray for GOD’s continued favor on Ted Cruz.

You know, I’m amazed at how much you Cruz people talk about raising money.

Ask Majority Leader Cantor how much HE raised. Oh wait...

Well, it’s important. He now has $64 million dollars in reserve. Newt and Rick, and conservatives generally, got (get) beat because they don’t have the resources.

Cruz has been obsessed with raising money, so he can make the case that he’s a viable conservative- as opposed to say Huck, or Rick, or Jindal.

Hard money demonstrates grass roots support, soft money demonstrates that big money is ready to back his effort- -— It’s important— it separates him from the rest. .

Ask Majority Leader Cantor how that worked out?

Cantor and Cruz aren't in the same ballpark, heck they aren't even in the same zipcode. Cantor was and still is an establishment RINO who was despised by the conservative base and not only hated Cruz, but hated the conservative caucus in congress. Cruz is a grassroots conservative candidate that is laying down a ground game with this money so he can hopefully win the primary. Bottom line you need money to run a campaign and Cruz has a significant amount of hard money on hand that should allow him to continue his campaign and outlast other flash in the pan candidates such as, Carson, Rubio and Fiorina.

Cruz is doing ALL the right things in order to win. No one can best him in a debate. He has a huge grassroots constituecy and I’ve gotten e-mails and they are not obnoxious. That means something to me.

Cruz or lose! :)

The campaign has also secured more than 6,000 “sustainers” – donors who have pledged to give a recurring monthly amount to the campaign. The sustainers provide enough recurring revenue to cover all expenses every month for Cruz’s entire field operation across the country, which includes the first four early states, as well as the 23 additional states and territories where the campaign is currently organized.
