Yes...Trump said it in a really nice way, too. Like a gentle hint. Then we get this from Cruz.

This is from the thread’s linked article.....

Mr. Cruz said Mr. Trump has boosted his candidacy and his chance of becoming the party’s standard-bearer.

“I think his involvement has been tremendously helpful to my campaign because it has framed the central question of the primary as: Who will stand up to Washington?” Mr. Cruz said. “And if that’s the central question, the natural next question, that any voter will ask is okay, well who actually has stood up to Washington? Who has a record in that regard?”

*******

Again, I disagree with Cruz’ statement and tactic. Trump is the one most recognized for fighting and “standing up to Washington”...that is getting the attention and traction we’ve so badly needed.

The MAJORITY of We the People see Trump as that fighter...polls and crowds prove that. This makes it look like Cruz is trying to grab on to Trump’s cape. Cruz would be polling much higher, if people saw him as the fighter.

Don’t forget Goldman Sachs money - that isn’t individual donations.

They compliment each other, the sum of the two creates the package that can save this country.

Complement.

Cruz may have stood up to Washington, and yet done it in a very “Washingtonish” way. In the end, he looks like the deep conservative flavor of conventional politician.

Trump is saying wait a literal New York minute here. There’s other styles in which to play this game.

Trump seems to be trying to get Washington to think outside of its own, now badly imploded box. Getting a large popular following this early in the game is part of that picture.

....relying on princes.

100% agree. We get the government we deserve. We will either be governed by God or by god we will be governed. America has trusted in the reserve currency and a strong military while embracing fornication, abortion, homosexuality, divorce, blasphemy, using the government to redistribute wealth to the sluggards, the unrestrained use of government to attempt to make heaven on earth and instead we get Dante's Detroit. The next president can do little against the bureaucracy, media and the insatiable avarice of the population. So we must trust in the Lord, but that does not alleviate the duty of citizenship in choosing our magistrates. The criteria for that choice ought be the law of God.

You categorically state that you will not vote for Cruz, the most conservative candidate in the race, even if Trump drops out.

I have voted for Conservatives all my life, where has that got us?

Most of the country will have no say in who the nominee is that is for sure where I am now living.

ps Cruz will never be President no matter how much we would like it.

The trumpeters sure seem a little testy tonight!

Really?

I hadn't noticed.
I'm convinced this is a clumsy 'divide and conquer' plant by the low end of the political IQ curve.

One of Trump's advisors didn't agree with what Cruz said....

.@TedCruz expects 2get #Trump2016 supporters...saying @realDonaldTrump will not get the #GOP nominee. I disagree! https://t.co/5TxnUUrtmf— Daniel Scavino Jr. (@DanScavino) October 9, 2015

This would be the first election in my life in which I did not vote.

Now there's a cogent and creative post!

I think Trump drops out when Jeb does...Cruz will pick up Trumps votes

Cruz will not get much of Trump's voters, more likely they would go to Carly many Carson if he can keep his foot out of his mouth.

Religion is an interesting thing. Folks can go to church every Sabbath for decades, and not be a good Christian. Others can hit church at weddings and funerals, and be a good Christian.

In terms of following God’s direction, I realize this isn’t truly possible, but I do believe some people who do not go to church on a regular basis know God, respect Him, and have a very firm grasp of man’s relationship with Him, His relationship with man, and how He will figure into our future.

I may be wrong, but I see Trump as a person that knows God. I do see some fundamental flaws, but no more than I see in myself. I do think God is important to this nation and global dynamics.

Trump has raised good kids. I am not sure you can do that without knowing God.

The other day he had a prayer breakfast. I get the impression there was a prayer session for Trump. I believe Trump is very serious about his candidacy, and is re-evaluating himself in the process.

He is in the process of developing sound policy. I think he is aware he needs God’s help.

You know folks, we can all lay this off at Trump simply working the public over, but at some point we’re going to have to look at Trump overall, and realize he’s the real deal.

We can’t continue to watch him do everything right on policy, campaigning, getting the message out, connecting with the common man, and renewing his faith in God, and continue to trash the man.

As some point we either have to accept that God is real and can still act on people’s lives today, or we need to hang it up and admit to ourselves that we don’t really believe God is vital and engaged in contemporary times, and can still deliver the Saul/Paul experience.

In principle there could be approaches that could outdo Trump. In practice we haven’t seen the people arise to do that. Trump seems to be a startlingly different figure against the current malaise. Not perfect, we don’t know if he’ll compromise liberal again, all those questions hang over Trump. But we do know he has the Midas touch to making deals. If Trump continues to make it to the top, conservatives would be silly to mope and pout; instead they would be wise to use the space that Trump opens up in order to find their own spheres of influence. Take “Make America great again” seriously and show how conservative attitudes and policies fill out that picture.

I’m wondering if the GOPee is pushing Cruz now, since Rubio’s image is tarnished, Snarly Carly can’t get traction and ¡Jeb! is on life support.

I noticed an article came out, earlier, that said “McConnell capitulates to Cruz”. Then, AP just ran a glowing article about Cruz’ quarter $$ numbers, compared to Rubio’s.

Maybe all just coincidental.

That, to me, is the proper response. It’s all that’s needed too.

An over-response here just means more folks will hear of Ted’s thoughts. Let it go.

It will wind up a silly comment that means nothing in the overall scheme of things.
