Thanks for the response.

Humility takes different forms. To be a truly humble person, you can’t honestly stand up for your own beliefs. I’m not talking about core Christian beliefs, but I am talking about core fundamental political beliefs.

If your reasoning tells you what must be done on illegal immigration, is it necessary to have a humble spirit? No. You know what needs to be done and you drive it through.

Rush used to talk about compromise. If you’re right, what does compromise accomplish. It only causes you to accept something less than right.

Can a humble man walk into a meeting with many different opinions and walk out with the plan he walked in with? I’m not convinced of that.

There are times when humble is the last thing called for.

Excellent analysis.

I wish you had krauthammer’s seat on Fox.

Very well stated. Trump has the ability. I have seen it in a few people and they are able to connect with all.

You could stand up for what you are most convinced is true. That is humble, to be so convinced that God is the boss that you do what He says even when it does not make sense to your worldly side.

The change happened in an instant.

Something was changing that's for sure!

The anointing would not have been possible if that were not true.

I contend that the change was incomplete until he was filled with the Spirit.
Titus 3:5-6 ...but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

I am equating "saved" with regeneration and conversion in Paul's writing to Titus.

And I wouldn’t be shocked if Trump got elected and flip-flopped back to supporting socialized medicine, abortion or whatever other position he thought could help his poll numbers at any given date and time. Although we can only hope he flip-flops back to supporting the Cuba embargo.

Cruz’ wife? Seriously? What other candidates get this level of scrutiny that we start analyzing their wives’ backgrounds? If you applied such an intense purity test to Trump, he absolutely crumbles on far more pillars than Cruz does. If you want a candidate with many troubling and iffy stands in his history, Trump’s your man.

Cruz has said no illegals here would ever become citizens, while Trump said an unlimited number can come back in and immigrate legally. So Trump is more liberal on immigration and on expanding the Democrat voter rolls than Cruz. Cruz’ voting record has been absolutely phenomenal. Other than Mike Lee, what Senator has a more conservative voting record?

Once more you criticize what you call man made religion, OUT of man made religion.

I find it astounding that you find the text of Holy Scripture to man made.

“I’m all in for Cruz and due to being vilified by Trump supporters here on FR I will in no way vote for Trump either in the primary or the general election.”

Plenty of non-Trump supporters doing the exact same thing. So vote based on the supporters and not the candidate? Interesting.

BTW I love Cruz. I’ve had the pleasure of voting for him, twice!

I’ve seen people who do not believe their beliefs are any better than other people’s beliefs. “Every idea is valid.” That’s a byproduct of moral relativism.

Aren’t they humble? Why sure. Are they going to be an effective leader? Not >IMO.

I’d say 4 business bankruptcies and 3 marriages pretty much answers your question of when Trump promises and what he delivers
If you think Trump will deport 30 million illegals you are way way out there.

Here’s a current example of such condescension (toward Trump supporters) from this very thread:

“Supporters of Trump are largely low-info loose marbles in this election cycle.”

One of many examples available.

You’re no better than me or any other Trump supporter. Who do you think you are?

There are hundreds of posts on this thread? What is Cruz going to say?

“Trump is clearly going to win”?

You’d say,,but that wasn’t what you posted. You posted that you were listening to ‘others’ who had said as much.

If the ‘others’ you were referring to are the ex-wives, surely there’s a link to their statements. Or perhaps YOU are just adding your interpretation?

We are addressing this academically, and I realize there will be diverse views to an extent.

I believe the Holy Spirit lives within us. Without it there is no compulsion to do right.

When Saul was moved to do right, it was only possible because the Holy Spirit was already within and working on him.

I don’t seek to diminish the anointing and would equate it in relative terms to baptism. It would be a formal act of something that had already taken place. In the case of baptism, I would term it something that had to take place, so I don’t want to make it seem I think it’s is a mere formality. I see it as a very important significant act.

Anointing, not quite to that level. I do think it is a worthy act too.
