The federal government has removed bacon, pork chops, ham, and all other pig products from the menu at its 122 federal prisons, impacting the nation’s 206,000 federal inmates.
The Washington Post reported that the ban went into effect when the new fiscal year began last week. According to the Bureau of Prisons, the decision was made after surveys revealed that inmates do not like the taste of pork. The bureau runs the country’s federal penitentiaries, which includes providing inmates with three meals per day.
“Why keep pushing food that people don’t want to eat? Pork has been the lowest-rated food by inmates for several years,” Edmond Ross, spokesman for the Bureau of Prisons, said. He added that pork products have also become more expensive.

I’d bet the pork products served by the Federal Prison system are guilt as charged as being close to inedible.
What beats bacon and eggs or fresh buttermilk pancakes with a hefty side of bacon for a leisurely weekend breakfast? Nothing. The lies the government is trying to pass as truth do not pass the smell test. These government types are just bowing down to muzzies at the behest of the current squatter in the White House.

Put a picture of naked women on the bottom of all the food trays while their at it. Make it impossible for them to adhere to their sick and demented cult so they must leave the country for fear of finding themselves in one of our jails or prisons.

This makes sense only if the number of Muslims in the system is large enough to make the cost of making extra halal meals when pork is served driving the total cost of food higher...

As far as prisons go, feed them whatever is cheapest and nutritionally complete. Who caresw if they like it or not? It’s PRISON!
Let them get hungry and they’ll eat whatever they get.

Turkey is a lot cheaper than pork. For inmates, works for me.
Turkey is a lot cheaper. I say it’s fine for jailbirds.
I recently purchased Turkey Bacon because I was told it was healthy, but darn! that taste so nasty that I had to throw it away because no way would I eat that stuff. I’ll stick to my Bacon from a Pig than a Turkey.
