I'm not buying this one bit. Have you ever tasted turkey bacon? Ugh! Horrible. Methinks this has to do with the Feds not wanting to offend the Muzzies so now all the prisoners have to suffer. Sorry, prisoners, but Sharia law rules your prisons.

I recently purchased Turkey Bacon because I was told it was healthy, but darn! that taste so nasty that I had to throw it away because no way would I eat that stuff. I’ll stick to my Bacon from a Pig than a Turkey.

I love bacon but I have gotten to where I use it mainly for flavoring. I like well marbled rib eyes but they need just a little more flavor so I put just a couple of slices of backon in the pan and also half an onion sliced up. I also slice up the bacon a few times.
I then throw in some flavored potatoes such as hash browns or tater tots or just Ore Ida potato rings. Also just a bit of salt and A-1.
It is very good, probably not the best way to cook it but the best I can do.
If these government policy makers had their way, they would put our prisoners on bread and water. With this type of food torture of our nation’s prisoners, they will be so mentally screwed up when they get out, they will need to be institutionalized in mental hospitals. If Trump gets to be President, he will root out these sadistic government policy makers and all of the food police will be thrown into the ash can of history.
Frankly they should be eating Soylent Green in prison, not real food.

I love bacon in my clam chowder. Without bacon, clam chowder is second-rate.
I love bacon wrapped around my cheese stuffed hot dogs in a bun fully loaded with chopped tomato, jalapeño pepper, chopped onions, KRAFT Real Mayo Mayonnaise, ketchup mustard and sour cream.
There is nothing better than a Hawaiian pizza with Canadian bacon.

Turkey bacon is ‘mechanically separated turkey’ (stuff that used to be sold by the local neighborhood butcher many years ago as working dog food - (backs/fat/innards/etc), so turkey bacon may have more saturated fat than pork bacon and may have as much or more sodium and sodium nitrite than pork bacon.
Nutritionists would likely guide you towards pork bacon as the more nutritious choice between the two.
Comparing pork chops to turkey breast or legs, there is more sodium in turkey and there is 3-8g sugar in a serving of turkey. Chops have more saturated fat but they have more of the good, unsaturated fats which turkey doesn’t. Fats are what help a person feel full and saited. This is important when feeding a food-centric population. Hungry people are grumpy people. And finally, a serving of pork chop has more protein than turkey, so even at twice the price, pork still the healthier choice.
Which goes to show, either we’re being led by idiots, or we’re being talked to like we are idiots and there’s a different reason to ban pork besides cost. Like the number of muslim converts in the prison system of a Christian nation.
Give the others whatever's cheapest.

I like that newfangled precooked bacon. A couple slices re-fried in a pan gives you extra-crispy bacon and bacon fat for frying your eggs in.
And I do regular bacon, but mostly for the fat that goes in a container for popcorn and flavoring other fried goodies, etc.
My nose would draw me to the hotel kitchen just in time to see big sheet pans of finished bacon coming out of the convection ovens. The only admonition cookie ever said was "Don't burn your mouth!"
